Synthesis of Core–Shell Te@Se Quantum Dots and Their Broadband Photodetector Performance in Low Concentration Electrolytes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 12, 18 June 2026.
Te@Se core–shell heterojunction quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized by a two‐step strategy via combining liquid‐phase exfoliation and epitaxial growth. As active materials in photoelectrochemical photodetectors, Te@Se QDs exhibit excellent photo‐response performance in low‐concentration electrolytes and deionized water.

Photonic crystal slab sensor for monolayer detection

open access: yes, 2017
An asymmetric photonic crystal slab was shown the ability to detect monolayer molecule coating. A linear spectrum shift introduced by 0.8 nm level coating ZnO was observed.

Dimensionality‐Driven Emerging Phenomena in Hybrid Metal Halides

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Emergent Phenomena Governed by Octahedral Connectivity and Dimensionality. Hybrid metal halides are unique among semiconductors in that their inorganic octahedral networks can be rationally assembled in 3D, 2D, 1D, and 0D forms, enabling dimensionality to assist as a powerful control knob over structure, electronic properties, excitations, and ...

Optimizing doubly-resonant photonic crystal cavity modes for second harmonic generation

open access: yes
We optimize a photonic crystal slab for the generation of second harmonic. The optimization consists in two steps. In the first step a regular photonic crystal, consisting in a triangular lattice of circular holes in a dielectric slab, is optimized by ...

Numerical Analysis of Dual-wavelength Photonic Crystal Slab Microcavities

open access: yes, 2007

Imaging of THz waves in 2D photonic crystal structures embedded in a slab waveguide

open access: yes, 2009
We present space- and time-resolved simulations and measurements of single-cycle terahertz (THz) waves propagating through two-dimensional (2D) photonic crystal structures embedded in a slab waveguide.

Classifying topology in photonic crystal slabs with radiative environments

open access: yesnpj Nanophotonics
In the recent years, photonic Chern materials have attracted substantial interest as they feature topological edge states that are robust against disorder, promising to realize defect-agnostic integrated photonic crystal slab devices. However, the out-of-
