Genotyping peculiarities of wheat photosynthesis light induction and productivity under the drought effect

open access: yesБіологічні студії
Background. In agrocenoses, leaf light conditions are known to be unstable due to intermittent cloud cover and shading by other leaves or spikes. However, with a change in irradiance, photosynthesis does not reach its final value instantly, but with a ...

The Kinetics of Mesophyll Conductance and Photorespiration During Light Induction

open access: yesPlants
Mesophyll conductance to CO2 (gm) act as a significant limiting factor influencing the CO2 assimilation rate (AN) during photosynthetic induction. However, the effect of vapor pressure deficit (VPD) on gm kinetics during light induction is not well ...

Blue-fluorescence of NADPH as an indicator of marine primary production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate (NADPH) is the primary product of photosynthesisand can therefore serve as an indicator of biomass and photosynthetic activity.

open access: yes, 2006
Cuscuta spp. (dodders) are rootless, holoparasitic herbs with filiform stems attached to the host by numerous haustoria. In Canada, Cuscuta gronovii is the most common native species of the genus followed by Cuscuta campestris and C. umbrosa.

Experimental Evidence for a Metal‐Related Function of a Cyanobactin

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Cyanobactins such as patellamides are produced by cyanobacteria profusely and have been studied extensively, but almost exclusively for their cytotoxic properties. Discussed is unprecedented experimental evidence for a metal‐related biological function – likely CO2 transport from the ascidian to the cyanobacterial symbiont.

Technobiological Pathways for High‐CO₂ Capture Using Micro‐/Macroalgae: Genetic Engineering, Process Automation, and Value‐Added Bioproducts

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have emerged as one of the most critical drivers of climate change; this is primarily due to high concentrations and long atmospheric life of carbon dioxide (CO2). For a significant amount of time, various biological processes such as microalgal cultivation, cyanobacterial systems, photosynthetic microorganisms ...
