Photosynthetic Pigments from Marine Algae: Isolation, Characterization, Biological Properties, and Life Cycle Assessment [PDF]
Marine algae's photosynthetic system is distinguished by the existence of phycobiliprotein pigments, along with chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments. Photosynthetic pigments have recently garnered interest for their biological activity.

From apex to base: Uncovering spatial metabolic adaptation in Antarctic mosses
Antarctic mosses survive extreme cold, desiccation, UV exposure, and oxidative stress. We analyzed three species by separating apical, middle, and basal zones. Each zone showed distinct metabolite patterns and biological roles, revealing spatial metabolic specialization. The results suggest that whole‐plant survival depends on coordinated contributions

ROLE OF PHOTOSYNTHETIC PIGMENTS IN PROTECTION AGAINST OXIDATIVE DAMAGE [PDF]
: The process of photosynthesis always begins with the absorption of light energy. This is done by certain pigments called photosynthetic pigments in plants and cyanobacteria. These pigments are of various types like chlorophyll, phycobilins, carotenoids

High atmospheric pressure (120 kPa) in deep underground counteracts humidity‐induced physiological stress in plants, stabilizing water balance and enhancing antioxidative defenses. This synergy boosts biomass despite elevated humidity, demonstrating sustainable deep underground agriculture potential under climate uncertainty.

A potential cyanobacterial ancestor of Viridiplantae chloroplasts [PDF]
The theory envisaging the origin of plastids from endosymbiotic cyanobacteria is well-established but it is difficult to explain the evolution (spread) of plastids in phylogenetically diverse plant groups.

PHOTOCHEMISTRY OF PHYCOBILIPROTEINS [PDF]
Native PEC from the cyanobacterium, Mastigocladus laminosus, and its isolated α-subunit show photoreversibly photochromic reactions with difference-maxima around 502 and 570 nm in the spectral region of the α-84 phycoviolobilin chromophore.

TiO2/chlorophyll bio‐hybrid nanofluid achieved the highest PVT performance, increasing thermal efficiency to 38.74% and overall efficiency to 51.35%, compared with 35.96% and 48.45% for Al2O3/water and 27.77% and 40.18% for water. The results demonstrate the potential of bio‐hybrid nanofluids for high‐efficiency solar thermal energy conversion ...
