The polypeptide composition of the Photosystem I complex from Synechococcus sp. PCC 6301 was determined by sodium-dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and N-terminal amino acid sequencing. The PsaA, PsaB, PsaC, PsaD, PsaE, PsaF, PsaK and PsaL proteins, as well as three polypeptides with apparent masses less than 8 kDa and small amounts of

Antenna function of a chlorophyll ab protein complex of Photosystem I
Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta - Bioenergetics, 1984Abstract The functional role of a chlorophyll a b complex associated with Photosystem I (PS I) has been studied. The rate constant for P-700 photooxidation, KP-700, which under light-limiting conditions is directly proportional to the size of the functional light-harvesting antenna, has been measured in two PS I preparations, one of which ...

A new chlorophyll-protein complex related to Photosystem I in Chlamydomonas reinhardii
Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta - Bioenergetics, 1982Abstract A new chlorophyll-protein complex, CP O, was isolated from Chlamydomonas reinhardii using lithium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis run at 4°C. A similar complex is recovered using Triton/digitonin solubilization of thylakoid membranes of the F54-14 mutant lacking in CP I and ATPase.

Photosystem I and II chlorophyll-protein complexes of higher plant chloroplasts
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1971Abstract An improved purification procedure which provides large quantities of the Photosystem I and II chlorophyll-protein complexes in a homogeneous form is reported. Only approx. 20% of the chlorophyll in the plants examined is associated with Photosystem I. Preliminary analyses of the properties of the two chlorophyll-proteins are given.

Chlorophyll Composition in an Isolated Chlorophyll a‐Protein Complex of Photosystem I
Physiologia Plantarum, 1979AbstractA P700‐chlorophyll a‐protein complex, solubilized by the detergent Triton X‐100, has been isolated by hydroxyl apatite column chromatography. The chlorophyll composition was determined by thin‐layer chromatography and spectrofluorimetric analysis. This photosystem I reaction centre complex, prepared at pH 7, contained pheophytin a and P700 in a

Chlorophyll—protein complexes related to photosystem I in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii
Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology, 1989Abstract A study of the photosystem I (PS I)-related chlorophyll (Chl)—protein complexes of the unicellular green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was performed, using the wild type and six photosynthesis mutants. Three complexes have been previously described in the literature: CP Ia, undissociated PS I complex; CP 0, Chl a + b peripheral ...
