Methyl Jasmonate Alleviated the Adverse Effects of Cadmium Stress in Pea (Pisum sativum L.): A Nexus of Photosystem II Activity and Dynamics of Redox Balance [PDF]
The accumulation of cadmium (Cd) in leaves reduces photosynthetic capacity by degrading photosynthetic pigments, reducing photosystem II activity, and producing reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Effects of Novel Photosynthetic Inhibitor [CuL2]Br2 Complex on Photosystem II Activity in Spinach [PDF]
The effects of the novel [CuL2]Br2 complex (L = bis{4H-1,3,5-triazino [2,1-b]benzothiazole-2-amine,4-(2-imidazole)}copper(II) bromide complex) on the photosystem II (PSII) activity of PSII membranes isolated from spinach were studied.

Revealing Missing Links in the Downsizing of the Photosystem II Antenna in Higher Plants Under Stress Conditions [PDF]
Chloroplast-to-nucleus ROS retrograde signaling is essential for acclimation of the photosynthetic apparatus to environmental stresses. One of the key mechanisms is the regulation of the photosystem II antenna size depending on light conditions and other

Advances in the Understanding of the Lifecycle of Photosystem II
Photosystem II is a light-driven water-plastoquinone oxidoreductase present in cyanobacteria, algae and plants. It produces molecular oxygen and protons to drive ATP synthesis, fueling life on Earth.

Quality control of photosystem II: lipid peroxidation accelerates photoinhibition under excessive illumination. [PDF]
Environmental stresses lower the efficiency of photosynthesis and sometimes cause irreversible damage to plant functions. When spinach thylakoids and Photosystem II membranes were illuminated with excessive visible light (100-1,000 µmol photons m(-1) s ...

Function of Redox-Active Tyrosine in Photosystem II [PDF]
Water oxidation at photosystem II Mn-cluster is mediated by the redox-active tyrosine Y(Z). We calculated the redox potential (E(m)) of Y(Z) and its symmetrical counterpart Y(D), by solving the linearized Poisson-Boltzmann equation. The calculated E(m)(Y( )/Y(-)) were +926 mV/+694 mV for Y(Z)/Y(D) with the Mn-cluster in S2 state.

Different adaptation strategies of two citrus scion/rootstock combinations in response to drought stress [PDF]
Scion/rootstock interaction is important for plant development and for breeding programs. In this context, polyploid rootstocks presented several advantages, mainly in relation to biotic and abiotic stresses.

Induction of photosystem II activity in flashed leaves [PDF]
The formation of photosynthetically functioning, normal chloroplasts in higher plants by exposure of etiolated leaves to light is well documented: morphologically [9] , physiologically [lo] , and biochemically [4, 15, 161, A net oxygen production was generally reported after several (2-4) hr of continuous illumination [ 171.
