Microarray analysis and barcoded pyrosequencing provide consistent microbial profiles depending on the source of human intestinal samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Large-scale and in-depth characterization of the intestinal microbiota necessitates application of high-throughput 16S rRNA gene-based technologies, such as barcoded pyrosequencing and phylogenetic microarray analysis.

Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

BLADE‐ON‐PETIOLE Genes Enable Genetic Bottleneck Mitigation Through Cross‐Species Repurposing of Floral Persistence Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that BLADE‐ON‐PETIOLE (BOP) proteins regulate floral abscission and senescence in tomato by interacting with TFAM1 to form transcriptional condensates controlling the ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA HOMEOBOX GENE 1 (ATH1)‐mediated abscission pathway.

Spatial Patterns of Diversity in Forest Birds of Peninsular India

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Biodiversity is structured via complex interactions among ecological, geological, and climatic processes. Regions with high heterogeneity in climate and topography are known to harbor fine‐scale patterns in diversity, which are often overlooked in global‐

Patterns and drivers of waterbird alpha and beta diversity are different between arid and humid regions of China

open access: yesAvian Research
Waterbirds are vital for wetland ecosystems, but climate change and human activities are harming these habitats globally, reducing biodiversity and threatening waterbird survival. In China, wetlands in humid and arid regions face quite different threats,

Gemella morbillorum Promotes Colorectal Carcinogenesis: LPBDCP‐Mediated Invasion Activates Ras Signaling and Destabilizes p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

Diversity Patterns of Domestic Herbivore Viruses in China Reveal Transmission Dynamics with Disease Management Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

Phylogenetic diversity of Moroccan cork oak woodlands fungi : mythe ou réalité ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
La variabilité interspécifique de 87 carpophores des champignons appartenant à 15 genres et 39 espèces ont été évaluées par l'analyse du polymorphisme de longueur de fragments de restriction (RFLP) de l'espaceur interne transcrit (ITS).

Phylogenetic insights into the diversity of Chryseobacterium species

open access: yesAccess Microbiology, 2019
The genus Chryseobacterium was formally established in 1994 and contains 112 species with validly published names. Most of these species are yellow or orange coloured, and contain a flexirubin-type pigment.
