Phylogenetic Networks

open access: yes, 2020
Phylogenetics is the study of the evolutionary relationships between organisms. One of the main challenges in the field is to take biological data for a group of organisms and to infer an evolutionary tree, a graph that represents these relationships.

Unveiling Salt Tolerance Mechanisms in Plants: Integrating the KANMB Machine Learning Model With Metabolomic and Transcriptomic Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt stress endangers coastal cereal crops, requiring resilient crop solutions. This study employs machine learning (KANMB) to analyze multi‐omics data from halophyte Spartina alterniflora, revealing 226 salt‐stress biomarkers and linking them to tolerance pathways. The MYB gene SaMYB35 regulates flavonoid biosynthesis under salinity.

Elastic Deformation of Cellulose/Lignin‐Based Anode for Rejuvenating Aged Mix‐Cultured Electroactive Biofilms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new strategy for revitalizing aged biofilms using the elastic deformation of biomass‐based flexible carbon aerogel is proposed. The elastic deformation removes the nonelectrogenic bacteria and the dead electrogenic bacteria, as well as a lot of loosely bound extracellular polymer materials.

Dynamic and Stable Core Microbiota Assist Plants in Enriching Selenium and Reducing Cadmium Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During different developmental stages of plants in natural Se–Cd coexisting soils, there is a group of rhizosphere microorganisms with highly dynamic abundance. The abundance variation of these microorganisms is strongly positively correlated with available Se and strongly negatively correlated with available Cd.

Morphological phylogenetics of Bignoniaceae Juss.

open access: yesBeni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, 2014
The most recent classification of Bignoniaceae recognized seven tribes, Phylogenetic and monographic studies focusing on clades within Bignoniaceae had revised tribal and generic boundaries and species numbers for several groups, the portions of the ...

Identification and Application of a Novel Patulin Degrading Enzyme From Meyerozyma guilliermondii

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Patulin (PAT), a hazardous mycotoxin, threatens human health. A novel yeast‐derived short‐chain dehydrogenase/reductase effectively degrades PAT into nontoxic ascladiol via catalytic triad activity. The biological detoxification process has no significant effect on the quality of fresh pear juice.

Complete mitochondrial genome and the phylogenetic position of the Lake Eyre hardyhead (Craterocephalus eyresii), a freshwater atherinid fish endemic to Lake Eyre Basin, South Australia

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2017
The Lake Eyre hardyhead (Craterocephalus eyresii) is an endemic freshwater fish living in the Lake Eyre basin in South Australia. Here, I report the full mitogenome description and the phylogenetic position of this species based on the mitogenome ...
