Specialties of Blood Serum Structurization Under Some Physiological Conditions [PDF]
Background: it is well-known that physiological stress agents can to produce a significant response of regulatory systems. At the same time, the nature of metabolic shifts in the organism during significant physical exertion and emotional stress has been

On the force exerted on a non-spherical dust grain from homogeneous, stationary, non-magnetized plasma [PDF]
It is shown that stationary non-spherical dust grain immersed into stationary non-magnetized plasma can experience a force caused by the grain-plasma interactions.

Forces exerted by a correlated fluid on embedded inclusions [PDF]
We investigate the forces exerted on embedded inclusions by a fluid medium with long-range correlations, described by an effective scalar field theory. Such forces are the basis for the medium-mediated Casimir-like force. To study these forces beyond thermal average, it is necessary to define them in each microstate of the medium.

Dendritic cells steering antigen and leukocyte traffic in lymph nodes
Dendritic cells are key players in the activation of T cells and their commitment to effector function. In this In a Nutshell Review, we will discuss how dendritic cells guide the trafficking of antigen and leukocytes in the lymph node, thus influencing T‐cell activation processes. Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in initiating and shaping the

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Pressure of a gas of underdamped active dumbbells [PDF]
The pressure exerted on a wall by a gas at equilibrium does not depend on the shape of the confining potential defining the wall. In contrast, it has been shown recently [A.P. Solon et al., Nat. Phys. 11, 673 (2015)] that a gas of overdamped active particles exerts on a wall a force that depends on the confining potential, resulting in a net force on ...

Physical Exertion, Exercise, and Sudden Cardiac Death in Women [PDF]
Exercise is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular events but may transiently increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias. Its short-term and long-term associations with risk of sudden cardiac death among women are unclear. To compare the risk of sudden cardiac death in women during moderate to vigorous exertion with the risk of sudden cardiac ...

Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...
