Frailty and Physical Activity: Are all Physical Activity Variables Equal?
Abstract Background Frailty, defined as diminished physiological and functional reserve, is linked to negative health outcomes such as falls, fractures, and disability. Physical activity dose plays a significant role in preventing and reducing physical frailty, but the influence of different PA ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Abundance of the sponge Hymeniacidon cf. perlevis in a stressful environment of Patagonia: relationships with Ulva lactuca and physical variables [PDF]
Understanding the variables (biotic or abiotic) controlling coastal communities is the main goal of ecology research and it is crucial to predict how communities will evolve under the increasing pressure on coastal systems by human activities.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Selection of Ordinally Scaled Independent Variables [PDF]
Ordinal categorial variables are a common case in regression modeling. Although the case of ordinal response variables has been well investigated, less work has been done concerning ordinal predictors.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Data Physicalization with Haptic Variables: Exploring Resistance and Friction
Data Physicalizations have the potential to create interactive and more engaging data experiences and to make data more accessible to a broader range of users than those reached by visualizations alone. Tapping into this potential necessitates an understanding of the strengths/weaknesses of the different encoding variables available to designers, and ...

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

The Economics of Participation and Time Spent in Physical Activity [PDF]
This paper examines the economics of participation in physical activity by developing a consumer choice model of participation and estimating it using data drawn from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS). Both emphasize that individuals
