Biochemical composition and physicochemical properties of broccoli flours

International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, 2009
The objective of this research was to study the biochemical composition and physicochemical properties of three different flours prepared from broccoli crop remains. Florets, leaves and stalks of broccoli were dried at 60 degrees C, and the flours obtained were analysed for proximate composition, amino acid profile, fatty acid composition, and ...

Effects of monomer compositions on physicochemical properties of composite resins

Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, 2017
AbstractThe aim of this study was to evaluate the cohesive strength (CS), surface roughness (Ra), and weight loss (WL) of different composite resins. Three composite resins (Filtek Z100; Filtek Z350; Filtek P90, 3M ESPE) were tested. To evaluate CS, an hourglass silicone mold (11 × 2 × 1 mm) was used (n = 10). The Ra and WL tests were performed using a

The physicochemical properties of polyindole/thiol composites

Synthetic Metals, 2003
We synthesized the polyindole (PI) and poly(2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole) (pDMcT) by chemical oxidation method. The polymerization of PI and pDMcT was confirmed by FT-IR. We have measured the electrochemical properties of the unit cell both before and after charge/discharge experiment.

Human hair: A unique physicochemical composite

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2003
All hair is ethnic. Categorizing diverse hair types into 3 major groups-African, Asian, and Caucasian-makes it easier to recognize characteristics specific to each hair type, such as curliness, color, and cross-sectional parameters. All hair, however, regardless of its ethnic origin, exhibits common characteristics of morphology, chemical makeup, and ...

Composition and Physicochemical Properties of Cobalt Molybdophosphates

Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2003
Cobalt molybdophosphates were synthesized. The composition of the compounds was confirmed by IR spectral, thermogravimetric, X-ray phase, and atomic-emission analyses. The influence of the composition on the thermochromic properties of the compounds was demonstrated.

Physicochemical studies of NiO–GDC composites

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2006
Abstract The effect of NiO addition into gadolinium doped ceria (GDC) on the phase stability, reduction behavior and electrical properties were investigated. X-ray diffraction studies showed that ceria and gadolinia formed a solid solution whereas NiO forms a composite phase with GDC.

Physicochemical Properties of Soy Protein: Effects of Subunit Composition

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011
Soy protein elastomer (SPE) exhibits elastic, extensible, and sticky properties in its native state and displays great potential as an alternative to wheat gluten. The objective of this study was to better understand the roles of soy protein subunits (polypeptides) contributing to the functional properties of SPE. Six soy protein samples with different

Study of physicochemical properties of nanohydroxyapatite–chitosan composites

Bulletin of Materials Science, 2020
Hydroxyapatite nanoparticles were synthesized using modified sol–gel approach. Its biocompatibility was proved by in vitro experiments with diploid fibroblasts. The experiment showed that the presence of hydroxyapatite in the environment of cells does not reduce their viability.
