Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Composition and Physicochemical Characterization of Walnut Flour, a By-product of Oil Extraction

open access: yesPlant Foods for Human Nutrition, 2021
The by-product of walnut oil (Juglans regia L.) extraction is a press cake rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and other bioactive compounds. From this cake, walnut flour is obtained by a milling process. The composition and a physicochemical characterization of walnut flour was performed: proximal composition, mineral content, and fatty acid and amino

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Undoing composition? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This piece is a contribution to a symposium on the relationship of literacy studies to composition studies. Three central foci of literacy studies have direct implications for composition studies: the shift from canonical to everyday texts, practices and

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

The influence of NLC composition on curcumin loading under a physicochemical perspective and in vitro evaluation

open access: yes, 2020
The use of (nanostructured lipid carries) NLC to disperse curcumin in aqueous media is widely found in literature. However, few studies systematically analyze the influence of the lipid matrix composition and the presence of curcumin on the ...

Analysis of the possibility of conducting a comprehensive assessment of landfill leachate contamination using physicochemical indicators and toxicity test

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2021
The inevitable consequence of the operation of landfills is the emission of leachate, which is considered to be one of the main polluters of the ground and water environment.

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using

Synthesis and physicochemical inverstigation of hydroxyapatite and wollastonite composite granules

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract Creation of osteoinductive materials based on biocompatible synthetic salts, with a sufficiently high strength and porosity, with the shape which allow filling bone defects with various shapes and sizes is an actual task of modern biomaterial science.
