Physicochemical properties of quinoa starch

Physicochemical properties of quinoa starches isolated from 26 commercial samples from a wide range of collection were studied. Swelling power (SP), water solubility index (WSI), amylose leaching (AML), enzyme susceptibility, pasting, thermal and textural properties were analyzed. Apparent amylose contents (AAM) ranged from 7.7 to 25.7%.

Determination of physicochemical properties of tetrabromobisphenol A

Abstract Aqueous solubility (Sw), 1-octanol/water partition coefficient (KOW), and vapor pressure of the nonionic form of 2,2′,6,6′-tetrabromo-4,4′-isopropylidenediphenol (tetrabromobisphenol A or TBBP-A) were measured. From this, enthalpies of solution and vaporization were estimated.

Physicochemical Properties of Pyocin F1

The physiochemical properties of pyocin F1 were studied. Pyocin F1 consists of flexuous rod-like particles homogenous in size. Each particle was composed of rod and fiber parts. The rod part was 105.5 +/- 9.5 nm long and 10.0 +/- 1.4 nm wide, and showed regular striations amounting to 23 layers.

AbstractUpon certain conditions of storage, Photofrin® samples changed their photodynamic therapy activity in mice. These samples showed similar absorption and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) profiles. The Photofrin® samples that were active, however, had higher relative fluorescence yields than those which failed.
