Comparative study of the effect of water stress on morphological, physiological and biochemical parameters of three Aloe species

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture
Water stress is one of the most significant abiotic constraints affecting plant growth and limiting agricultural productivity. This study aims to optimize agricultural production and promote the medicinal and cosmetic uses of Aloe plants in Morocco’s ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Physiological Response and Endurance of Madurese Cattle and Their Crosses at The Tropical Environment in Pamekasan Regency

open access: yesJurnal Agripet
This study aimed to determine the physiological response of Madura cattle and Limura cattle (Limousin x Madura) to the tropical environment. The research was conducted in Galis District, Pamekasan Regency from July to August 2024. The sample consisted of

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Assessing virtual reality presence through physiological measures: a comprehensive review

open access: yesFrontiers in Virtual Reality
This review analyzes 94 articles in an attempt to define the concept of presence in virtual reality (VR). Two types of data were examined: physiological variables and questionnaires, which were used in 85% study of the selected articles.

Improved methods for counting bacteria in physiological fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Bacterial population detection is based on detection of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), chemical present in all living matter. Amount of ATP in sample, after chemically removing all nonbacterial ATP, is directly related to bacterial population. Sensitivity

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
