Participation of labile and stabile phytochrome in the control of chlorophyll accumulation during the deetiolation of oat seedlings

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
The effect of the phytochrome system on the accumulation rate of chlorophyll-a and b in 96-hour-old oat seedlings during the first 3 hours of white light action was investigated.

Far-red Fraction: An Improved Metric for Characterizing Phytochrome Effects on Morphology

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 2020
Phytochrome, a well-studied photoreceptor in plants, primarily absorbs in the red (R) and far-red (FR) regions and is responsible for the perception of shade and subsequent morphological responses.

Long-Distance Protonation-Conformation Coupling in Phytochrome Species

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Phytochromes are biological red/far-red light sensors found in many organisms. The connection between photoconversion and the cellular output signal involves light-mediated global structural changes in the interaction between the photosensory module (PAS-

The heterotrimeric G-protein complex modulates light sensitivity in arabidopsis thaliana seed germination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Release of dormancy and induction of seed germination are complex traits finely regulated by hormonal signals and environmental cues such as temperature and light.

Phytochrome Control of Another Phytochrome-mediated Process [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1972
The phytochrome-mediated attachment of root tips of mung bean (Phaseolus aureus) and barley (Hordeum vulgare) to glass is affected by the prior exposure of hydrated seeds or seedlings to red or far red radiation. Prior irradiation of seeds or seedlings of mung bean with red light promotes attachment, while far red light promotes detachment of root tips.

Anatomia foliar de microtomateiros fitocromo-mutantes e ultra-estrutura de cloroplastos Leaf anatomy of micro-tomato phytochrome-mutants and chloroplast ultra-structure

PPKs mediate direct signal transfer from phytochrome photoreceptors to transcription factor PIF3

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Phytochrome photoreceptors mediate degradation of PIF transcription factors in the nucleus in response to light. Here Niet al. identify a family of nuclear protein kinases that interact with photoactivated phytochrome B and facilitate phytochrome-induced

Tomato phyE is Required for Shade Avoidance in the Absence of phyB1 and phyB2.

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
The phytochrome (phy) family of red and far-red photoreceptors provides plants with critical information about their surrounding environment and can signal downstream developmental and physiological changes.

Phytochrome Immunoaffinity Purification [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1979
We have developed a phytochrome immunoaffinity purification procedure that yields undegraded oat (Avena sativa L., cv. Garry) phytochrome of greater than 98% purity within 2 hours when starting with a brushite-purified preparation. Immunoaffinity-purified phytochrome, except for its greater purity, is indistinguishable from conventionally purified ...

The HY5-PIF regulatory module coordinates light and temperature control of photosynthetic gene transcription [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The ability to interpret daily and seasonal alterations in light and temperature signals is essential for plant survival. This is particularly important during seedling establishment when the phytochrome photoreceptors activate photosynthetic pigment ...
