Rice yield improvement by foliar application of phytohormone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The phytohormones perform a vital role for the plant growth and development. A study was conducted at glasshouse of Universiti Putra Malaysia to evaluate the different phytohormones foliar application on the yield of MR219 rice.

SERRATE Regulates Floral Meristem Activity by Antagonizing SHOOT MERISTEMLESS and Repressing Cytokinin Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.

Global Transcriptomic Profile Analysis of Genes Involved in Lignin Biosynthesis and Accumulation Induced by Boron Deficiency in Poplar Roots

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2019
To uncover the transcriptomic mechanism of lignin accumulation caused by boron deficiency (BD), Nanlin895 (Populus × euramericana “Nanlin895„) was subjected to control (CK, 0.25 mg·L−1) and BD (0 mg·L−1) treatments ...

Transcriptome analysis reveals that auxin promotes strigolactone-induced adventitious root growth in the hypocotyl of melon seedlings

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
IntroductionStrigolactone (SL) and auxin are two important phytohormones involved in plant root development, but whether they show synergistic or mutual promotion effects during adventitious root (AR) formation has not been adequately explored.MethodsIn ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Exogenous salicylic acid and hydrogen peroxide attenuate drought stress in rice

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2020
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and salicylic acid (SA) exhibit protective effects against a wide array of stresses. In this study, we investigated the relative efficacy of exogenous H2O2 and SA in conferring drought tolerance in rice (Oryza sativa L.).
