On the root rot disease of okura by Phytophthora spp.
沖縄県のオクラ普通期栽培の返し圃場に側枝伸長が悪く萎凋・枯死する株がみられた。病株の主根部はほとんど腐敗し根腐症を呈した。現地発生地圃場の根腐症株から病原菌の分離を行ったところRhizoctonia, Pythium, Phytofihthora, Fusarium属菌等が分離された。これらの菌株はオクラ幼苗に対し病原性を有したものの,着果株に対してはPhytophthora属菌のみに病原性を認めた。本菌を接種した株は主根部が黒変し,その後腐敗を起こして枯死に至った。この症状は現地圃場のものとほぼ一致したので,切返し後の根腐症はPhytophthora属菌の感染によるものと考えられた。
