Proximate mechanisms of drought resistance in Phytoseiulus persimilis eggs [PDF]
AbstractUnder drought stress,Phytoseiulus persimilisfemales are able to lay drought-resistant eggs through an adaptive maternal effect. The mechanisms making these eggs drought resistant still remain to be investigated. For this purpose, we studied the physiological differences between drought-resistant and drought-sensitive eggs.

Brevipalpus yothersi, the vector of citrus leprosis virus, showed high susceptibility to cyflumetofen. Its low resistance suggests it is effective, but should be rotated with other acaricides with different modes‐of‐action for sustainable management.

Plasticity in climate change responses
ABSTRACT Recent research has shown that climate change can both induce and modulate the expression of plastic traits but our understanding of the role of phenotypic plasticity as an adaptive response to climate change is limited. In this review, we dissect the mechanisms and impact of phenotypic plasticity as a response to accumulating climatic ...

Mint companion plants attract the predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis [PDF]
AbstractMint plants could theoretically serve as companion plants (CPs) that attract enemies of herbivores in tritrophic interactions. In order to explore the traits of mint volatiles as attractant cues for enemies of two-spotted spider mites, we performed Y-tube olfactometer assays of predatory mites, Phytoseiulus persimilis and Neoseiulus ...
