Fractional PI Controller for Integrating Plants

2020 16th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV), 2020
This paper verifies a fractional-order PI controller to stabilize integrating time delay plants. Firstly, the stability region by non-integer order controller namely, $PI^{\lambda}$ is illustrated using boundary condition. This is achieved using complex root boundary domains.

Controlling Reversibility in Higher-Order Pi

2011
We present in this paper a fine-grained rollback primitive for the higher-order π-calculus (HOπ), that builds on the reversibility apparatus of reversible HOπ [9]. The definition of a proper semantics for such a primitive is a surprisingly delicate matter because of the potential interferences between concurrent rollbacks.

Application of SSOD-PI and PI-SSOD event-based controllers to greenhouse climatic control

ISA Transactions, 2016
In this work, an application of the Symmetric Send-On-Delta (SSOD) event-based controllers to the inside air temperature control of the greenhouse production process is presented. The control technique analysis is split into two stages. The first stage is devoted to determine the proper controller parameters and to check the influence of the Send-On ...

A strategy of replacement of a PI controller with an MPC controller

2016 American Control Conference (ACC), 2016
Suppose that a system is operated with a proportional-integral (PI) controller and a new controller is designed based on model predictive control (MPC) scheme. When the system is expensive and complicated, risk of replacing the PI controller with the MPC controller even for a test is high unless it is absolutely certain that the MPC controller will not

u-Synthesis Control with PI Augmentation

2006 American Control Conference, 2006
The mu-synthesis approach has been successfully applied to both single-stage and dual-stage disk drive servo control. There is a problem, however, in that it is not easy to get tight control over the low frequency properties of the controller (such as integral action).

A PI-controller for distributed delay systems

Automatica, 1987
A finite dimensional control theory is developed for the design of a proportional plus integral control law for tracking step command inputs in general autonomous time-lag systems with distributed heredity in state, control and output variables. With respect to an ordinary differential equation describing the delay system unstable modes, an auxiliary ...

Design and testing of a PI controller ASIC

Microprocessors and Microsystems, 1995
This paper describes the design and testing of an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) which provides the functionality of a digital proportional plus integral error actuated controller with auxillary feedback. The ASIC controller can provide discrete time control of a range of continuous time systems by receiving analogue inputs via a single

A neural network PI controller tuner

Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, 1995
Abstract The development of a neural network system for tuning proportional and integral (PI) feedback controllers is presented. The tuning process includes an initial gain setting procedure and a fine tuning procedure. The initial gain settings are obtained by using the standard Ziegler-Nichols tuning rules based on the openloop step response of the

Decentralized PI control for a congestion game

ICARCV 2004 8th Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision Conference, 2004., 2005
The El Farol bar problem is a simple model of congestion and coordination behaviours that occur with shared resources. From a control-theoretic point of view, this problem can be viewed as a decentralized control problem. This work is a first step towards solving the El Farol bar congestion problem based on control theory.

Design of stabilizing PI and PID controllers

International Journal of Systems Science, 2006
In this paper, a new method for the calculation of all stabilizing PI controllers is given. The proposed method is based on plotting the stability boundary locus in the (kp , ki )-plane and then computing the stabilizing values of the parameters of a PI controller for a given control system.
