Sociodemographic and regional differences in human–coyote interactions and human attitudes towards coyotes

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Attitudes and emotions shape how humans perceive and behave towards wildlife, making them a key component affecting human–wildlife coexistence. In addition to direct experience with wildlife, research shows that sociodemographic characteristics and locality can influence a person's relationship with wildlife through cultural norms, economic ...

Evaluating the Utility of RNAseq in Prenatal Diagnostics: Expression Profiles of Cultured Chorionic Villus and Amniotic Fluid Samples

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective While RNAseq has enhanced variant interpretation in postnatal cases, its potential in the prenatal setting remains underexplored. This study investigates the utility of RNAseq in prenatal diagnostics by analyzing the expression profiles of cultured chorionic villus samples (cCVS) and amniotic fluid (cAF) samples. Methods We performed

Waves of range dynamics and gene flow characterize the biogeographic history of Litsea elongata, a dominant tree in East Asian evergreen broadleaved forests

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Evergreen broadleaved forests (EBLFs) represent an iconic vegetation type in subtropical montane East Asia, but they are experiencing intensifying anthropogenic pressure and increasing habitat fragmentation. Here, using a dominant and widespread tree species characteristic of East Asian EBLFs, we examine its phylogeographic history and evaluate what it

Approaching Argyres-Douglas theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The Seiberg-Witten solution to four-dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 super-Yang-Mills theory with gauge group SU(N) and without hypermultiplets is used to investigate the neighborhood of the maximal Argyres-Douglas points of type a 1 a N − 1 $$ \left({

On the global moduli of Calabi-Yau threefolds

open access: yes, 2018
In this note we initiate a program to obtain global descriptions of Calabi-Yau moduli spaces, to calculate their Picard group, and to identify within that group the Hodge line bundle, and the closely-related Bagger-Witten line bundle. We do this here for

The Mediator's Mind: Navigating Party Psychology and Behavioural Dynamics in Dispute Resolution

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mediation increasingly requires psychological competence, as mediators regulate emotion, cognition and interaction within conflict systems. This study examines how mediators' psychological awareness and behavioural reflexivity shape conflict trajectories, advancing the concept of a behavioural architecture that transforms emotional volatility ...

Picard Groups of Hypersurfaces In Toric Varieties

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 1996
We study the structure of rational Picard groups of hypersurfaces of toric varieties. By using the fan structure associated to the ambient toric variety, an explicit basis of the Picard group is described by certain combinatorial data. We shall also discuss the application to Calabi-Yau spaces.
