Synthesis and Evaluation of Novel 111In-Labeled Picolinic Acid-Based Radioligands Containing an Albumin Binder for Development of a Radiotheranostic Platform.

Molecular Pharmaceutics, 2022
Picolinic acid-based metallic chelators, e.g., neunpa and octapa, have attracted much attention as promising scaffolds for radiotheranostic agents, particularly those containing larger α-emitting radiometals.

THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF PICOLINIC ACID

Chemistry Letters, 1973
Abstract The crystal structure of picolinic acid was determined by a three-dimensional X-ray analysis. The molecules are linked by two symmetric double minimum hydrogen bonds with a small potential barrier, N–H–N and O–H–O,and form a zig-zag chain.

Investigation of Picolinic Acid Extraction by Trioctylamine

International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering, 2011
Picolinic acid is a pyridine compound with a carboxyl side chain at the 2-position. It is an isomer of nicotinic acid, which has the carboxyl side chain at the 3-position. Picolinic acid acts as a chelating agent of elements such as chromium, zinc, manganese, copper, iron, and molybdenum in the human body.

Picolinic acid hydroxylase of Arthrobacter picolinophilus

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1974
Picolinic acid is oxidized by cells and extracts of Arthrobacter picolinophilus to 6-hydroxypicolinic acid. The enzyme involved is a particulate hydroxylase which appears to incorporate the hydroxyl group of water into the substrate. The enzyme was purified about 60-fold.

Immunobiology of Picolinic Acid

1996
Exposure of various cell types to IFN results in increased enzymatic activities leading to the breakdown of tryptophan and evidence exists to suggest that the catabolism of tryptophan may be connected to the biological effects of interferon (Carlin et al., 1989.

Microbial oxidation of kynurenic, xanthurenic and picolinic acids

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1963
Abstract 1. 1. Resulta of a study of the degradation of kynurenic acid by an Aerococcus are in agreement with a reaction sequence proposed for Pseudomonas by other workers. This sequence includes Compounds I and II below. 2. 2. Partial inhibition of oxidation of kynurenic acid by cell suspensions caused an accumulation of pyruvate with ...

A Picolinic Acid Derivative: A Plant Growth Regulator

Science, 1963
4-Amino-3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid is more toxic to many broad-leaved plants than 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid. It is comparable in absorption by foliage, in translocation, and in soil-leaching characteristics; in soil, however, it retains its activity for a longer time.

Speciation studies of binary and ternary complexes formed with oxidovanadium(IV) ion picolinic acid and some amino acids

Physics and chemistry of liquids (Print), 2020
In the present work the chemical speciation of ternary complexes systems formed by VO2+ ion with picolinic acid and the amino acids = α-alanine (HαAla), glycine (HGly), serine (HSer), threonine (HThr), aspartic acid (H2Asp), glutamic acid (H2Glu ...

Influence of picolinic acid on seizure susceptibility in mice

Pharmacological Reports, 2017
The mechanism of drug resistance in epilepsy remains unknown. Picolinic acid (PIC) is an endogenous metabolite of the kynurenine pathway and a chelating agent added to dietary supplements. Both inhibitory and excitatory properties of PIC were reported.

A cocrystal of L-ascorbic acid with picolinic acid: the role of O-H...O, N-H...O and C-H...O hydrogen bonds and L-ascorbic acid conformation in structure stabilization.

Acta Crystallographica. Section B: Structural Science, Crystal Engineering and Materials, 2020
A new 1:1 cocrystal (L-Asc-Pic) of L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) with picolinic acid was prepared as a powder and as single crystals. The crystal structure was solved and refined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) data collected at 293 (2) and ...
