Holmstedt's formula for the K‐functional: the limit case θ0=θ1$\theta _0=\theta _1$

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 296, Issue 12, Page 5474-5492, December 2023., 2023
Abstract We consider K‐interpolation spaces involving slowly varying functions, and derive necessary and sufficient conditions for a Holmstedt‐type formula to be held in the limiting case θ0=θ1∈{0,1}$\theta _0=\theta _1\in \lbrace 0,1\rbrace$. We also study the case θ0=θ1∈(0,1)$\theta _0=\theta _1\in (0,1)$.

The resource constrained clustered shortest path tree problem: Mathematical formulation and Branch&Price solution algorithm

open access: yesNetworks, Volume 81, Issue 2, Page 204-219, March 2023., 2023
Abstract In this article, the Resource Constrained Clustered Shortest Path Tree Problem is defined. It generalizes the classic Resource Constrained Shortest Path Tree Problem since it is defined on an undirected, complete and weighted graph whose set of nodes is partitioned into clusters.

30 Years of space–time covariance functions

open access: yesWIREs Computational Statistics, Volume 13, Issue 2, March/April 2021., 2021
A separable covariance function (left) and a space‐time covariance function with dynamical compact support. Abstract In this article, we provide a comprehensive review of space–time covariance functions. As for the spatial domain, we focus on either the d‐dimensional Euclidean space or on the unit d‐dimensional sphere.

An efficient numerical model for the simulation of coupled heat, air, and moisture transfer in porous media

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 2, Issue 2, February 2020., 2020
An efficient explicit numerical model is proposed for the simulation of heat, air, and moisture transfer in porous material. The combination of innovative approaches enables to relax the numerical stability condition to reduce the computational time. Abstract This article proposes an efficient explicit numerical model with a relaxed stability condition

A Liouville-type theorem for the p-Laplacian with potential term [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we prove a sufficient condition, in terms of the behavior of a ground state of a singular p-Laplacian problem with a potential term, such that a nonzero subsolution of another such problem is also a ground state.

Weak Comparison Principle for Weighted Fractional p‐Laplacian Equation

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
The aim of this paper is to establish a weak comparison principle for a class fractional p‐Laplacian equation with weight. The nonlinear term f(x, s) > 0 is a Carathéodory function which is possibly unbounded both at the origin and at infinity and such that f(x, s)s1−p decreases with respect to s for a.e. x ∈ Ω.

A generalized nonlinear Picone identity for the p-biharmonic operator and its applications

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
A generalized nonlinear Picone identity for the p-biharmonic operator is established in this paper. As applications, a Sturmian comparison principle to the p-biharmonic equation with singular term, a Liouville’s theorem to the p-biharmonic system, and a ...

Infinite first order differential systems with nonlocal initial conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We discuss the solvability of an infinite system of first order ordinary differential equations on the half line, subject to nonlocal initial conditions.

Periodic attractors of perturbed one-dimensional maps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we investigate how many periodic attractors maps in a small neighbourhood of a given map can have. For this purpose we develop new tools which help to make uniform cross-ratio distortion estimates in a neighbourhood of a map with degenerate
