A Picone-type inequality for quasilinear elliptic operators with mixed nonlinearities and with p(x)-Laplacian is established, and Sturmian comparison theorems are derived on the basis of the Picone-type inequality.

Novel Stream Ciphering Algorithm for Big Data Images Using Zeckendorf Representation
Big data is a term used for very large data sets. Digital equipment produces vast amounts of images every day; the need for image encryption is increasingly pronounced, for example, to safeguard the privacy of the patients’ medical imaging data in cloud disk.

A generalized nonlinear Picone identity for the p-biharmonic operator and its applications
A generalized nonlinear Picone identity for the p-biharmonic operator is established in this paper. As applications, a Sturmian comparison principle to the p-biharmonic equation with singular term, a Liouville’s theorem to the p-biharmonic system, and a ...

Rayleigh principle for time scale symplectic systems and applications
In this paper we establish the Rayleigh principle, i.e., the variational characterization of the eigenvalues, for a general eigenvalue problem consisting of a time scale symplectic system and the Dirichlet boundary conditions.

This paper is concerned with boundary value problems for a fourth‐order nonlinear difference equation. Via variational methods and critical point theory, sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions, the existence of n distinct pairs of nontrivial solutions, and nonexistence of solutions.

Solvability of Nth Order Linear Boundary Value Problems
This paper presents a method that provides necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions of nth order linear boundary value problems. The method is based on the recursive application of a linear integral operator to some functions and the comparison of the result with these same functions.

Conditional Oscillation of Half‐Linear Differential Equations with Coefficients Having Mean Values
We prove that the existence of the mean values of coefficients is sufficient for second‐order half‐linear Euler‐type differential equations to be conditionally oscillatory. We explicitly find an oscillation constant even for the considered equations whose coefficients can change sign.

Oscillation of Half‐Linear Differential Equations with Delay
We study the half‐linear delay differential equation (r(t)Φ(x′(t)))′ + c(t)Φ(x(τ(t))) = 0, Φ(x): = |x|p−2x, p > 1. We establish a new a priori bound for the nonoscillatory solution of this equation and utilize this bound to derive new oscillation criteria for this equation in terms of oscillation criteria for an ordinary half‐linear differential ...
