Changes in Alcohol Retail Laws and Foot Traffic at Liquor Stores
ABSTRACTWe study how expanding alcohol availability at grocery and convenience stores affects consumer traffic in liquor stores by leveraging recent changes in state‐level alcohol distribution laws in a difference‐in‐difference quasi‐experimental design.

Scaling of the linear response in simple ageing systems without disorder [PDF]
The time-dependent scaling of the thermoremanent and zero-field-cooled susceptiblities in ferromagnetic spin systems undergoing ageing after a quench to a temperature at or below criticality is studied. A recent debate on their interpretation is resolved

Picone's identity for the p-biharmonic operator with applications
In this article, a Picone-type identity for the weighted p-biharmonic operator is established and comparison results for a class of half-linear partial differential equations of fourth order based on this identity are derived.

The joint projected normal and skew-normal: a distribution for poly-cylindrical data
The contribution of this work is the introduction of a multivariate circular-linear (or poly- cylindrical) distribution obtained by combining the projected and the skew-normal.

Quantum Lattice Boltzmann is a quantum walk [PDF]
Numerical methods for the 1-D Dirac equation based on operator splitting and on the quantum lattice Boltzmann (QLB) schemes are reviewed. It is shown that these discretizations fall within the class of quantum walks, i.e. discrete maps for complex fields,

Drivers of Mid‐Latitude Quiet‐Time Longitude Variations in Ionospheric Density
Abstract The aim of this study is to provide an observational benchmark of mid‐latitude quiet‐time variability in winds, O/N2, and TEC across longitude and local time to provide a foundation for future model–data comparison studies. The quiet‐time ionospheric structure is not uniform but rather exhibits pronounced longitudinal and local‐time ...

Picone's identity and the moving plane procedure
Summary: Positive solutions of a class of nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations are shown to be symmetric by means of the moving plane argument coupled with spectral theory results and Picone's identity. The method adapts easily to situations where the moving plane procedure gives rise to variational problems with positive eigenfunctions.

Stationary spacetimes and the Simon tensor
For stationary vacuum spacetimes the Bianchi identities of the second kind equate the Simon tensor to the Simon-Mars tensor, the latter having a clear geometrical interpretation.
