Changing trends in prenatal screening and treatment of cytomegalovirus infection in France: 7‐year national cohort study (2017–2023)

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 67, Issue 6, Page 756-763, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the leading cause of congenital infectious neurosensory impairment. We aimed to present national epidemiological data on maternal CMV infection during pregnancy in France, focusing in particular on primary infection in the periconceptional period or first trimester, and to assess the impact of changes in ...

Generalized Picone identity for Finsler -Laplacian and its applications

open access: yesUkrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, 2021
UDC 517.9 We prove a generalized Picone-type identity for Finsler -Laplacian and use it to establish some qualitative results for some boundary-value problems involving Finsler -Laplacian.

A thermoplastic microfluidic platform with integrated electrospun scaffolds for assessing brain cell‐specific drug selectivity

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Schematic representation of the microfluidic platform with its advantages. Abstract A major challenge in pharmacology is the limited selectivity of therapeutic compounds toward specific tissues or cells. Drugs often distribute systemically before reaching the intended site of action, affecting nontarget cells and potentially reducing efficacy or ...

First Results of a New Inversion Tool for Thermospheric Neutral Mass Density Computations During Severe Geomagnetic Storms

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract In Low Earth Orbit (LEO), atmospheric drag is the dominant source of trajectory prediction error below approximately 700 km altitude, primarily due to inaccuracies in thermospheric density models. This work presents a method for temporally deconvolving Energy Dissipation Rates (EDRs) to produce single‐satellite density estimates, which can be ...

Nitric Oxide Intensification Associated With STEVE: TIMED/SABER‐REGO Observations and Comparison With GITM Simulation

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement (STEVE) is a nightsky optical phenomenon of great research interest in recent years. STEVE is recognized to be co‐located with a latitudinally narrow channel of fast westward ion drifts, also known as “subauroral ion drifts” (SAID).

Picone's identity and the moving plane procedure

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1995
Summary: Positive solutions of a class of nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations are shown to be symmetric by means of the moving plane argument coupled with spectral theory results and Picone's identity. The method adapts easily to situations where the moving plane procedure gives rise to variational problems with positive eigenfunctions.

Does Weight Loss Translate to Workplace Gains? Results of an Employment Questionnaire in Adults With Prediabetes and Overweight or Obesity

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 5001-5010, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Excess weight is associated with adverse health and economic disadvantage. Observational studies suggest that people with obesity are less likely to be employed and have lower income, potentially from workplace discrimination. This study examined whether weight loss achieved through a structured, dietitian‐supported program improved ...

Oscillation for quasilinear elliptic equations with p(x)-Laplacians in general domains

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
Oscillation of quasilinear elliptic equations with p(x)-Laplacians in general domains are derived by the variational approach as applications of Picone identity. Three examples are given, and generalizations to quasilinear elliptic equations with $p(x)

Second‐Scale Formation of Non‐Field‐Aligned Plasma Irregularities Observed From a High‐Altitude 43‐Cassiopeiids Fireball

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract High‐altitude optical meteors initiating above 150 km are exceedingly rare, with confirmed observations largely confined to the Leonids. Using the Meteor and ionospheric Irregularity Observation System, we recorded a bright 43‐Cassiopeiids fireball with heterogeneous material. It initiated luminously at an exceptional altitude of 157.8 ± $\pm $

Changes in Alcohol Retail Laws and Foot Traffic at Liquor Stores

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, Volume 48, Issue 2, Page 447-461, May 2026.
ABSTRACTWe study how expanding alcohol availability at grocery and convenience stores affects consumer traffic in liquor stores by leveraging recent changes in state‐level alcohol distribution laws in a difference‐in‐difference quasi‐experimental design.
