Experimental Evidence of Free Carrier Generation in 2D Hybrid Organic–Inorganic Perovskites
ABSTRACT Despite the significant potential of 2D hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites (2DHOIPs) for high‐efficiency optoelectronics application‐comparable to their 3D counterparts, the fundamental carrier photogeneration remains unclear. In contrast to conventional ultrafast optical property characterization, we use ultrafast photocurrent spectroscopy ...

A review of X-ray laser development at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory [PDF]
Recent experiments undertaken at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory to produce X-ray lasing over the 5-30 nm wavelength range are reviewed. The efficiency of lasing is optimized when the main pumping pulse interacts with a preformed plasma.

Controlling Ultrafast Photonic‐Plasmonic Coupling in a Hybrid Platform for Biosensing Applications
A metal–dielectric hybrid composed of gold nanocaps on opal exhibits a broad near‐infrared plasmonic resonance interacting with the photonic bandgap under ultrafast transient conditions. This coupling can be controlled by varying the excitation wavelength and is responsive to bacterial deposition, opening new opportunities for ultrafast biosensing ...

Unraveling Mechanism of Photoluminescence in Hybrid Indium Halide Materials
Halide substitution in isolated [InHal6]3− octahedra reveals how bromide incorporation governs photoluminescence properties in hybrid indium halides. Ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer excitation followed by recombination produces a red‐shift and steadily increasing photoluminescence efficiency with increasing Br content.

Alopecia Totalis Treated with 1064 nm Picosecond Nd:YAG Laser: A Case Report
Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disorder causing nonscarring hair loss. Alopecia totalis (AT), the severe form of AA, is usually refractory to many first-line treatments including topical and intralesional corticosteroids and topical immunotherapy.

Nonlinear Acoustics at GHz Frequencies in a Viscoelastic Fragile Glass Former [PDF]
Using a picosecond pump-probe ultrasonic technique, we study the propagation of high-amplitude, laser-generated longitudinal coherent acoustic pulses in the viscoelastic fragile glass former DC704. We observe an increase of almost ten percent in acoustic

High‐content Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) Imaging reveals that ovarian cancer cells surviving Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) ‐T cell challenge exhibit increased cholesterol esterification. Pharmacological inhibition of this pathway with Avasimibe significantly enhances CAR‐T induced killing of ovarian cancer cells by reducing cancer cell ...

A Laminating Strategy to Manyfold Enhance the Elastic Stretchability of Stretchable Electronics
We propose a laminating strategy that laminates a thick‐polymer layer onto the thin‐ribbon metallic structure. Using serpentine structures on soft and hard substrates as representative cases, this approach increases elastic stretchability by 3.5‐fold and 2.3‐fold.
