Importance of In-Plane Anisotropy in the Quasi Two-Dimensional Antiferromagnet BaNi$_{2}$V$_{2}$O$_{8}$

open access: yes, 2007
The phase diagram of the quasi two-dimensional antiferromagnet BaNi$_{2}$V$_{2}$O$_{8}$ is studied by specific heat, thermal expansion, magnetostriction, and magnetization for magnetic fields applied perpendicular to $\mathbf{c}$. At $\mu_0H^{*}\simeq1.5$

ABERRATIONS MINIMIZATION FOR IMPROVING CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPACT HIGH-APERTURE DISPERSIVE SPECTROMETERS

open access: yesПриборы и методы измерений, 2015
Schemes of high-aperture and compact optical spectrometers and giperspectrometer with minimized aberrations are presented. In the first scheme usage of inclined plane-parallel plate allows decreasing of astigmatism.

Equivariant Degenerations of Plane Curve Orbits

open access: yes, 2019
In a series of papers, Aluffi and Faber computed the degree of the $GL_3$ orbit closure of an arbitrary plane curve. We attempt to generalize this to the equivariant setting by studying how orbits degenerate under some natural specializations, yielding a

Confinement Effects in Antiferromagnets

open access: yes, 2000
Phase equilibrium in confined Ising antiferromagnets was studied as a function of the coupling (v) and a magnetic field (h) at the surfaces, in the presence of an external field H.

Worlds Pictured in Contemporary Art: Planes and Connectivities

open access: yesHumanities Research, 2013
It is difficult to imagine a theme more relevant to contemporary concerns than that of this conference.1 The imagining of worlds within the World is a topic that has concerned me for some time, to the extent of nominating it in recent publications as one that is at the core of contemporary art, as it is of current being-in-the-world, and thus ...

Optical properties of a two-dimensional electron gas at even-denominator filling fractions

open access: yes, 1996
The optical properties of an electron gas in a magnetic field at filling fractions \nu = {1\over 2m} (m=1,2,3...) are investigated using the composite fermion picture. The response of the system to the presence of valence-band holes is calculated.

Some Complex Picture Fuzzy Aggregation Operators Based on Frank t-norm and t-conorm: An Application to Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) Process

open access: yesComputing Open
The purpose of this study is to extend the idea of complex intuitionistic fuzzy set (CIFS) with a new notion referred to as a complex picture fuzzy set (CPFS).

New Spherical Scalar Modes on the de Sitter Expanding Universe

open access: yes, 2012
New spherical scalar modes on the expanding part of Sitter spacetime, eigenfunctions of a conserved Hamiltonian-like operator are found by solving the Klein-Gordon equation in the appropriate coordinate chart, with the help of a time evolution picture ...

Point Charge Dynamics Near a Grounded Conducting Plane

open access: yes, 2010
The classic image problem in electromagnetism involves a grounded infinite conducting plane and a point charge. The force of attraction between the point charge and the plane is identified using an equivalent-field picture of an image charge with ...

Picture-plane inversion leads to qualitative changes of face perception

open access: yesActa Psychologica, 2008
Presenting a face stimulus upside-down generally causes a larger deficit in perceiving metric distances between facial features ("configuration") than local properties of these features. This effect supports a qualitative account of face inversion: the same transformation affects the processing of different kinds of information differently.
