A Completely Adaptive PID Regulator

IFAC Postprint Volumes IPPV / International Federation of Automatic Control, 1988
Abstract This paper introduces a nee approach, which is based on a stochastic-deterministic recursive adaptive scheme, estimating the process parameters and the time delag at the sante time and using design formulas for automatic tuning of the PID regulator parameters.

Optimal multivariable PID regulator. [PDF]

open access: yesKybernetika, 2000
Summary: A continuous version of optimal LQG design under presence of Wiener disturbances is solved for MIMO controlled plant. Traditional design tools fail to solve this problem due to unstability of the augmented plant. A class of all optimality criteria, which guarantee existence of an asymptotic solution, is defined using a plant deviation model ...

PID Regulator Design

2018
In practice the most frequently used controllers are PID controllers which use proportional, integrating and differentiating effects in the control algorithm. Design of these controllers is shown through examples.

On a Class of Adaptive PID Regulators

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
Abstract Based on some relations discovered between the deterministic servo regulator and the PID design a simple design role is presented for stable processes to ensure 5% relative overshoot for the closed loop step response. The adaptive solution is based on the explicit identification of a second order process model with time delay.

On the robustness of classical PID regulators

2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2017
A new approach is proposed to improve the robustness of simple PID controls. This scheme widens the critical medium frequency domain and increases the achievable bandwidth.

Optimal design of PID regulators

International Journal of Control, 1981
Tuning of three-term controllers, a widely popular device for process control, has always been accomplished by semi-empirical rules. The aim of this paper is to establish a link between PID regulators and optimal feedback design for linear systems. After showing how the optimal control theory can be tailored to the design of optimal regulators, the ...

Design of Discrete PID Regulators

2018
In a sampled-data control circuit the regulator can be designed in the frequency domain taking into account that by sampling and applying a zero order hold the system behaves as if additional dead-time had occurred in the system. Discrete PID controllers considering this effect are designed with pole cancellation technique.

On a generalization of pid regulators for delay systems *

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2001
Abstract We derive PID-like regulators utilizing flatness-based predictive control (M. Fliess and R. Marquez, 2000, Continuous-time linear predictive control and flatness: a module-theoretic setting with examples, vol. 73, 606-623), generalized PI controllers (M. Fliess, R. Marquez, E. Robust Tuning of PID Regulators Based on Step-Response Identification

European Journal of Control, 1997
Robust control design requires an accurate knowledge of the uncertainty bound around the nominal model. While classical identification theory qualifies the uncertainty in identified models through confidence regions of the estimated parameters, recent works have studied frequency-domain error bounds for models identified via least-squares like ...
