Improving the antiwindup properties of autotuning PID regulators

This manuscript presents an antiwindup technique for industrial regulators, aiming at gaining some control on the characteristics of “large” transients (i.e., of transients involving significant control saturation). This is achieved by investigating the interplay between linear, in-the-small tuning rules, and the effects of the antiwindup itself.

Pid Regulation Of Robot Manipulators With Elastic Joints

ABSTRACTThis paper studies the stability of a class of PID controller to stabilize robot manipulators with elastic joints. It is shown that a PD action on the rotor position and an integral control action on the link position suffice to provide semiglobal asymptotic stability of the desired link position.

The Delay Controller: An Improvement Over PID Regulator

If the derivative term in a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is replaced by a suitable time delay, the noise contamination in the output is smoothed out while the other good effects of PID action are preserved. Sufficient conditions for the choice of time delay are established.

Observer based PID regulator for a class of factorable nonlinear plants

A simple discrete-time PID tuning method is extended for Hammerstein and WIENER type block-oriented cascade factorable nonlinear models. It is shown that this extension is quite straightforward for both IS and IU HAMMERSTEIN models. Then the observer-based versions of these regulators are also discussed.

Simple discrete-time PID tuning methods are extended for Hammerstein and Wiener type block-oriented cascade factorable nonlinear models. It is shown that this extension is quite straightforward for both IS and IU Hammerstein models, however the extension can be performed only for IS Wiener models.
