SPICE‐Compatible Compact Modeling of Cuprate‐Based Memristors Across a Wide Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A physics‐guided compact model for YBCO memristors is introduced, incorporating carrier trapping, field‐induced detrapping, and a differential balance equation to describe their switching dynamics. The model is compared with experiments and implemented in LTspice, allowing realistic circuit‐level simulations.

In‐Sensor Computing by Soft Threshold Logic Gates Under Different Humidity Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Soft nanocomposite materials, based on gold cluster‐assembled thin films implanted in polydimethylsiloxane substrate, can perform reliable processing in ambient environmental conditions. Humidity influences the resistive switching and computational capabilities of the nanocomposites, that can be used as multifunctional material combining sensing ...

Generalized counterexamples to the Seifert conjecture

open access: yes, 1998
Using the theory of plugs and the self-insertion construction due to the second author, we prove that a foliation of any codimension of any manifold can be modified in a real analytic or piecewise-linear fashion so that all minimal sets have codimension ...

Dynamics of delayed piecewise linear systems [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
Summary: The dynamics of the controlled pendulum is investigated assuming backlash and time delays. The upper equilibrium of the pendulum is stabilized by a piecewise constant control force which is the linear combination of the sampled values of the angle and the angular velocity of the pendulum.

Factorization Machine‐Based Active Learning for Functional Materials Design with Optimal Initial Data

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This work investigates the optimal initial data size for surrogate‐based active learning in functional material optimization. Using factorization machine (FM)‐based quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) surrogates and averaged piecewise linear regression, we show that adequate initial data accelerates convergence, enhances efficiency, and ...

Determining the Lyapunov Spectrum of Continuous-Time 1D and 2D Multiscroll Chaotic Oscillators via the Solution of m-PWL Variational Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
An algorithm to compute the Lyapunov exponents of piecewise linear function-based multidirectional multiscroll chaotic oscillators is reported. Based on the m regions in the piecewise linear functions, the suggested algorithm determines the individual ...

Optimal Piecewise Linear Income Taxation [PDF]

open access: yes
Given its significance in practice, the piecewise linear tax system seems to have received disproportionately little attention in the literature on optimal income taxation.

Bifurcations in Globally Coupled Chaotic Maps

open access: yes, 1995
We propose a new method to investigate collective behavior in a network of globally coupled chaotic elements generated by a tent map. In the limit of large system size, the dynamics is described with the nonlinear Frobenius-Perron equation. This equation

RAMS: Residual‐Based Adversarial‐Gradient Moving Sample Method for Scientific Machine Learning in Solving Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We propose a residual‐based adversarial‐gradient moving sample (RAMS) method for scientific machine learning that treats samples as trainable variables and updates them to maximize the physics residual, thereby effectively concentrating samples in inadequately learned regions.
