Wearable PIFA antenna for smart glasses application

2016 IEEE International Conference on Computational Electromagnetics (ICCEM), 2016
This paper presents a wearable antenna of 2.4 GHz Bluetooth for smart glasses application. This antenna consists of two elements array planar inverted-F antennas (PIFA) using coaxial cable to connect two antenna elements together. Moreover, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) in user's head is also calculated using the model provided by CST software.

Microwave Imaging with Modified Stack Type PIFA Antenna utilizing SAR Algorithm

2022 IEEE Microwaves, Antennas, and Propagation Conference (MAPCON), 2022
This paper describes a Planer Inverted F Antenna (PIFA) that can be used as a microwave imaging transducer. The planned antenna has a peak gain of 4.6 dBi at 1.7 GHz and operates between 1.68 and 1.71 GHz.

Directivity improvement of PIFA antenna at 2.7GHz by FR4 Substrate using a combination of Shorting pin and feeding pin

International Conference on Signals and Electronic Systems, 2022
This research is about designing a Planar inverted F antenna (PIFA antenna) at a frequency of 2.7GHz using a combination of Shorting pin and Feeding pin to improve the Directivity. PIFA Antenna with and without Pins are used with a sample size of 20.

Multistandard PIFA antenna

11th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics [ANTEM 2005], 2005
In this article, a frequency reconfigurable antenna using the ON/OFF states of a MEMS (micro‐electro‐mechanical system) switch is presented. This structure is based on a planar inverted‐F antenna (PIFA), designed with an L‐shaped open slot etched upon its main plate.

User's Impact on PIFA Antennas in Mobile Phones

VTC Spring 2009 - IEEE 69th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2009
Thanks to a recent grip study, CAD models of the human hand have been generated, investigating user's impact on PIFA antennas in mobile phones. The simulation results show that the hand and especially the index finger exhibit a major contribution in determining the total loss when compared to the upper torso alone, while the influence of the position ...

A stretchable PIFA antenna

2011 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2011
This paper presents a stretchable Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) based on a new metallization technique of depositing nanoscale thin (50/100nm) Au film on elastomer Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The thin metal films can be reversibly stretched up to 20% without losing electrical conduction.

Multiband PIFA Vehicle Telematics Antennas

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2005
Compact, low-cost antennas for multiband telematics applications on vehicles are described. The multifrequency band antennas are variations on the printed inverted-F antenna (PIFA) principle. One type of PIFA is a compact variation of a conventional antenna while the other is a novel planar version customized for different mounting positions such as ...

A Dual-Fed PIFA Antenna Element With Nonsymmetric Impedance Matrix for High-Efficiency Doherty Transmitters: Integrated Design and OTA-Characterization

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2020
A single planar inverted F-antenna is proposed employing two input ports to optimally power-combine the output signals of two nonlinear power amplifiers inside the metal-only low-loss antenna structure. High power-added efficiency (PAE) at back-off power
