Congenital Suipoxvirus Infection in Newborn Piglets in an Austrian Piglet-Producing Farm
In February 2020, a fourth parity sow gave birth to a litter of piglets with four piglets presenting pox-like skin lesions. Lesions were distributed over the whole skin surface and ulcerative lesions were also observed on the mucosa of the oral cavity. The skin lesions were described as looking like pox lesions.

Vat Polymerization 3D Printing for Controlled Drug Release Applications
ABSTRACT Vat polymerization (VP) 3D printing, a light‐based additive manufacturing technique, has emerged as a promising technique for fabricating complex drug delivery systems with high precision and spatial resolution. This layer‐by‐layer manufacturing process enables the creation of intricate geometries and customizable architectures, which are ...

Starfish as feedstuff (OK-Net Ecofeed Practice Abstract) [PDF]
• Starfish should be harvested, at the earliest, three months before spawning to have highest protein and lowest ash content. • High calcium levels limit the inclusion level of starfish meal in piglets’ diets to around 5%.

This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

A cohort study of post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome and PCV2 in 178 pigs from birth to 14 weeks on a single farm in England [PDF]
Our hypothesis was that pigs that develop post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) are detectable from an early age with signs of weight loss and other clinical and serological abnormalities.

Effect of high and low levels of maternally derived antibodies on porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) infection dynamics and production parameters in PCV2 vaccinated pigs under field conditions [PDF]
The present study aimed to compare the efficacy of a porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) commercial vaccine in terms of average daily weight gain (ADWG) as well as infection dynamics in pigs with different maternally derived antibody (MDA) levels.

Non‐Invasive Multidimensional Capacitive Sensing for In Vivo Traumatic Brain Injury Monitoring
Single‐electrode, multidimensional capacitive sensors noninvasively assess cerebral autoregulation and compliance for traumatic brain injury monitoring. ABSTRACT Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability, but invasive intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring is risky, and current non‐invasive methods lack the resolution and ...
