Glutaminolysis Blockade‐Empowered Bimodal Nanodepot for Spatially Complementary Sono‐Thermal Ablation via PANoptosis and STING Activation Against Large Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An injectable bimodal TCPD nanodepot disrupts glutaminolysis and TCA metabolism, sensitizing large tumors to spatially complementary sono‐thermal ablation for complete treatment coverage. This intervention induces mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum dysfunction, genotoxicity, and NAD+ depletion, converging to trigger PANoptosome assembly and ...

Single‐Nucleus Transcriptomic Atlas of Human Vellus Hair Pilosebaceous Units Reveals Age‐Associated Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human vellus pilosebaceous units (PSUs) remain uncharted. This single‐nucleus atlas reveals coordinated remodeling of the aging PSU niche: reduced bulge stem cell representation with altered regenerative programs, increased representation of a stress‐responsive channel+ epithelial state, enhanced androgen‐responsive sebaceous programs, reduced ...

Villonodular synovitis of the lumbar spine: Case report of a rare pathology

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2020
Lumbar pigmented villonodular synovitis is rarely localized on the lumbar spine. Awareness of pigmented villonodular synovitis is important despite its rarity because it may mimic several other lesions of this location.

Analysis Of Skin Lesions With Pigmented Networks

open access: yes, 1996
This paper deals with image processing for automatic analysis of pigmented skin lesions. A special emphasis is put on pigmented networks in epiluminescence microscopy (ELM) images.

A rhesus macaque model of α‐dystroglycanopathy caused by a POMT1 splice altering variant

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Rhesus macaques homozygous for a naturally occurring spice altering variant in the POMT1 gene develop lissencephaly, microphthalmia, and muscular contracture. The presentation models severe presentation of the human Walker‐Warburg syndrome. Abstract Background Biallelic mutations in genes associated with α‐dystroglycan glycosylation manifest in a ...

Developing a strain‐dependent susceptibility to hepatocellular carcinoma in a murine model based on histopathological evidence and genetic context

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Using F1 (C57BL/6J/Smad4+/− X CC) mice, we found that partial loss of Smad4 promotes liver carcinogenesis in a strain‐dependent manner, highlighting the importance of genetic modifiers in tumor susceptibility. The use of Collaborative Cross mice provides a valuable platform for uncovering genotype‐specific cancer susceptibilities in preclinical ...

Description of Some Dermatoscopic Features of Acral Pigmented Lesions in Iranian Patients: A Preliminary Study [PDF]

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 2011
"nProper differentiation between acral malignant melanoma and benign pigmented lesions like melanocytic nevi is of great value. To avoid unnecessary biopsies, dermatoscopy has been introduced as a non-invasive modality and has improved the clinical ...

Can a black pigmented lesion of the oral cavity predict future development of melanoma- Report of a case and review of literature

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care
Oral melanotic macules and primary oral malignant melanoma are distinct pigmented lesions that can present clinical challenges in diagnosis. While melanotic macules are generally benign, quite a few instances of progression to melanoma have been reported.

Chrysin attenuates diabetes‐induced retinal injury by inhibiting microglial GBP3/NLRP3/GSDMD‐mediated pyroptosis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We investigated the therapeutic potential and mechanism of chrysin in experimental diabetic retinal disease. Using a streptozotocin (STZ)‐induced diabetic mouse model and high‐glucose‐stimulated BV2 microglia, we revealed chrysin‐responsive pyroptosis‐associated signatures and identified GBP3 as a regulated node.
