Dynamic Response Analysis of Pile Group Foundation of Super-Giant Sewage Treatment Structure on Hydraulic Fill Foundation

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2022
In this study, a 3D numerical model, considering the dynamic interaction between soil, pile foundation, and super structure, and the parameter analysis of internal force response of pile group foundation under differences seismic intensity, was ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Comparative Study on Seismic Response of Pile Group Foundation in Coral Sand and Fujian Sand

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2020
The physical and mechanical properties of coral sand are quite different from those of common terrestrial sands due to the special marine biogenesis. Shaking table tests of three-story structures with nine-pile foundation in coral sand and Fujian sand ...

Seismic soil pile interaction:experimental evidence

open access: yes, 2009
The comprehension of the real behaviour of pile foundations under earthquake loading is very important, since it can significantly affect the performance of the superstructure.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Influence of Pile Spacing on the Compressive Bearing Performance of CEP Groups

open access: yesBuildings
Pile spacing is an important factor affecting the bearing capacity of concrete expansion pile (CEP) groups. In this study, a pile group was simulated and analyzed using ANSYS software R19.0.
