Experimental Study on the Uplift Bearing Capacity of Pre-Drilled Planted Piles in Isolated Stone Strata Based on Transparent Soil Technology

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The presence of isolated stones in the soil layers of engineering sites has significantly increased. Currently, the existing methods for dealing with isolated stones are inadequate to meet engineering needs.

Model tests and numerical analyses of polymer gravel piles

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2018
In order to apply and popularize the new type polymer gravel piles in engineering, model tests and finite element analyses are carried out on three kinds of polymer gravel piles with different polymer densities, and their bearing characteristics are ...

An investigation of correlation factors linking footing resistance on sand with cone penetration test results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Significant research effort has led to improvements in our ability to estimate the ultimate bearing resistance of footings in sand. These techniques often estimate the footing resistance at relatively large displacements, typically 10% of the footing ...

Numerical modelling of rows of discrete piles used to stabilise landslides under long-term conditions in clays

open access: yes, 2013
A literature review found no rigorous solution for the ultimate lateral pile-soil pressure ( ) in a soil characterised by a frictional failure criterion, and that the popular empirical methods to estimate give profiles with depth that differ ...

Vertical dynamic response of energy pile under different load frequencies and thermal conditions

open access: yesChinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering
: Currently, there is a considerable body of research focused on the thermo-mechanical behavior of energy piles under static loading; however, studies investigating the dynamic response of energy piles under cyclic loading remain limited.

Instrumentation and Axial Load Testing of Displacement Piles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Despite the fact that results of many instrumented pile load tests have been reported in the literature, it is difficult to find well-documented instrumentation procedures that can be used when planning a load testing programme.
