Multivariate and geostatisctic analyses showed that the tree species composition of 187 seasonally dry tropical forests (SDTF) in North‐eastern and Central Brazil varied significantly with both environmental variables and spatial proximity. There is a role for niche‐based control of tree species composition across the SDTFs areas determined primarily ...

We examined floristic patterns of ten seasonal semideciduous forest sites in southeastern Brazil and conducted a central sampling of one hectare for each site, where we took samples and identified all individual living trees with DBH (diameter at breast height, 1.30 m) ≥4.8 cm. Arboreal flora totaled 242 species, 163 genera, and 58 families.

Branch regeneration of jaborandi submitted to diferentes types of pruning and cropping systems
The leaf of the jaborandi (Pilocarpus microphyllus) is the part of the plant of economic interest, from which the pilocarpine is extracted, therefore, leaf production is the main variable that determines the productivity of this species.

Pilocarpine accumulation on Pilocarpus pennatifolius tissue culture [PDF]

2D NMR Methods for Structural Delineation of Copper(II) Complexes of Penicillin and Pilocarpine
A method was developed for delineating the structure of paramagnetic metal complexes. The selective disappearance of cross‐peaks in proton‐carbon shift correlated 2D NMR maps was shown to uniquely depend upon the scalar and/or dipolar interaction between ligand nuclei and the unpaired electron(s), thus providing a means of identifying binding sites ...
