Effect and Limitation of Pinned Photodiode
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2016The pinned photodiode (PPD) is the primary technology for image sensors and used in almost all charge-coupled device image sensors and CMOS image sensors. This paper discusses the effect and limitation of PPD, especially dark current and electronic shuttering.

Effects of the Hubbard interaction and electrostatic pinning in polyacetylene
Physical Review B, 1988Abstract : The discrete model for the coupled electron phonon system in polyacetylene has been extended to include the electronic effects of electrostatic pinning and the Hubbard interaction in the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation. To fit experimental structural data, the Hamiltonian also includes the lattice kinetic energy and the coupling of ...

Anisotropy, pinning, and the mixed-state Hall effect
Physical Review B, 1995We have studied the mixed-state Hall effect of the high-{ital T}{sub {ital c}} superconductors Nd{sub 1.85}Ce{sub 0.15}CuO{sub 4} (NCCO), Tl{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}CaCu{sub 2}O{sub 8} (Tl2212), and YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7} (YBCO), and the isotropic low-{ital T}{sub {ital c}} superconductor amorphous Mo{sub 3}Si ({ital a}-Mo{sub 3}Si).

The effectiveness of pins with complete cast metal crowns
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1984T he basic retentive elements in complete cast metal crown preparations are height, convergence, and surface area. Surface roughness of the casting and the cavity walls also contributes to retention, but to a lesser degree. Adhesive strength of the cementing medium aids retention, but this depends on the choice of product.

The effect of post-layout pin permutation on timing
Proceedings of the 2005 ACM/SIGDA 13th international symposium on Field-programmable gate arrays, 2005In this paper we study the effect of post-layout pin permutation of designs for FPGA devices with non-uniform cell delays. We present a simple, but timing optimal, pin permutation scheme, and report the results of applying the scheme on a set of public logic synthesis benchmark designs that were synthesized and placed by state-of-the-art commercial ...

Neuroticism and cortisol: Pinning down an expected effect
International Journal of Psychophysiology, 2014There are strong theoretical arguments that those high on Neuroticism (N) should normally exhibit higher prevailing levels of the stress-linked hormone cortisol (C), but findings are inconsistent, probably reflecting methodological weaknesses especially in taking account of C's diurnal cycle.High and low N students [Total N=118; mean age=20.99years ...
