Abstract Ryegrass species (Lolium spp.) are both cultivated crops and troublesome weeds. Weedy ryegrasses are prone to evolve herbicide resistance and are particularly widespread in regions of intense ryegrass propagation, like Saxony in Germany and the Pacific Northwest in the USA.

Abstract The sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench ssp. bicolor] germplasm lines Tx3499–Tx3503 (Reg. no. GP‐948–Reg. no. GP‐952, PI 706257–PI 706261) were developed by the Texas A&M AgriLife Research sorghum breeding program in 2024. These lines are resistant to acetyl‐coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase)‐inhibiting herbicides used for post‐emergence control

The role of UDP-glycosyltransferases in herbicide resistance [PDF]
Along with the widespread use of herbicides in modern agriculture, the phenomenon of herbicide resistance has appeared, where weed plants become partially or completely resistant to the action of one or more herbicides. Resistance arises in two ways - by

Bioinspired Synthesis of Pinoxaden Metabolites Using a Site-Selective C–H Oxidation Strategy [PDF]
A bioinspired synthesis of Pinoxaden metabolites 2–5 is described herein. A site-selective C–H oxidation strategy validated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations was devised for preparing metabolites 2–4.

Resistance to Acetolactate Synthase and Acetyl Co-A Carboxylase Inhibitors in North Carolina Italian Ryegrass (Lolium perenne) [PDF]
Diclofop-resistant Italian ryegrass is widespread in southwestern North Carolina, and growers have resorted to using acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitors such as mesosulfuron and pyroxsulam to control this weed in wheat.

The effect of different herbicides and soil moisture regimes on Camelina performance
This experiment aimed to evaluate the effect of different herbicides, including H0: no application of herbicide, H1: trifluralin as a pre-emergence herbicide, H2: cycloxydim, H3: haloxyfop-R-methyl, and H4: pinoxaden as post-emergence herbicides, on ...

Abstract The value of glyphosate to growers practicing minimum or no‐till farming has been primarily a function of three factors: broad‐spectrum weed control, little to no carryover effect, and cost effectiveness. A 2‐year field study was conducted in 2021 and 2022 at the University of Idaho Research and Extension Centers at Kimberly and Aberdeen, ID ...

Significant, heritable differences in sensitivity to the herbicide cinmethylin were found amongst UK blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides) populations before this active was introduced, potentially linked with prior exposure to other herbicides. Abstract BACKGROUND Cinmethylin is an inhibitor of plant fatty acid biosynthesis, with in‐plant activity ...

Influence of the growth stage of blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds) on the effect of the pinoxadene [PDF]
Alopecurus myosuroides (mišji repak) jedan je od značajnijih travnih korova usjeva strnih žitarica. Cilj ovog istraživanje je utvrditi utjecaj faza rasta mišjeg repka na učinkovitost herbicida pinoksadena.
