Defining stage-specific activity of potent new inhibitors of Cryptosporidium parvum growth in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Currently, nitazoxanide is the only FDA-approved treatment for cryptosporidiosis; unfortunately, it is ineffective in immunocompromised patients, has varied efficacy in immunocompetent individuals, and is not approved in infants under 1 year of age ...

Development of a targeted GC/MS screening method and validation of an HPLC/DAD quantification method for piperazines–amphetamines mixtures in seized material

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Forensic Sciences, 2014
Piperazine-related drugs are sold as party pills in the form of tablets, capsules, liquids or powders. These party pills can contain several piperazine derivatives, or even a mixture of piperazines and amphetamine derivatives.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of the hydrochloride salt of 8-{4-[(6-phenylpyridin-3-yl)methyl]piperazin-1-yl}-3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-one

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2021
The amine 8-{4-[(6-phenylpyridin-3-yl)methyl]piperazin-1-yl}-3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-one was crystallized as the hydrochloride salt, 4-(2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-8-yl)-1-[(6-phenylpyridin-3-yl)methyl]piperazin-1-ium chloride, C25H27N4+·Cl− (I ...

Piperazine Hepatitis

open access: yesGastroenterology, 1976
The first reported case of piperazine toxicity resembling viral hepatitis is described in a 25-year-old woman. The illness, which was severe, occurred after administration of the drug on two separate occasions. The evidence favors a hypersensitivity mechanism rather than a direct toxic effect of piperazine or its metabolites on the liver.

Poly(amidoamine)s synthesis, characterisation and interaction with BSA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cationic poly(amidoamine)s (PAAs) were synthesised and characterised by NMR and gel permeation chromatography. Their thermal properties were investigated using thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry.

Syntheses and crystal structures of 4-(4-nitrophenyl)piperazin-1-ium benzoate monohydrate and 4-(4-nitrophenyl)piperazin-1-ium 2-carboxy-4,6-dinitrophenolate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2022
Crystal structures are reported for two molecular salts containing the 4-(4-nitrophenyl)piperazin-1-ium cation. Co-crystallization from methanol/ethyl acetate solution of N-(4-nitrophenyl)piperazine with benzoic acid gives the benzoate salt, which ...

1,4-Bis(4-nitrosophenyl)piperazine: novel bridging ligand in dinuclear complexes of rhodium(III) and iridium(III). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The synthesis, spectroscopic characterization and crystal structures of the first 1,4-bis(4-nitrosophenyl)piperazine (BNPP) (4) bridged dinuclear complexes of rhodium(III) and iridium(III) are presented. The reaction of the μ2-halogenido-bridged dimers [(
