Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.

Efficient pressure-transformer for fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Fluid transformer utilizes fluid under pressure at one level to drive series of free pistons in positive displacement pump. Pump in turn delivers hydraulic fluid at different pressure level to a load.

Kaluza-Klein models as pistons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider the influence of extra dimensions on the force in Casimir pistons. Suitable analytical expressions are provided for the Casimir force in the range where the plate distance is small, and where it is large, compared to the size of the extra ...

Enhanced Energy Harvesting Performance of Biodegradable Polylactic Acid/3D Anodic Aluminum Oxide Composite Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Polylactic acid (PLA) embedded in 3D anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) yields triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) with ɛeff = 5.1, delivering 20V and 108µW both per cm2. These agglomeration‐resistant, compostable/biocompatible devices retain 95% output after 104 cycles, enabling robust self‐powered Internet of Things (IoT) sensing.

Conical Casimir pistons with hybrid boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we compute the Casimir energy and force for massless scalar fields endowed with hybrid boundary conditions, in the setting of the bounded generalized cone.

Scalable Wheat Bran‐Algae Composites for Edible Electronics with Spray‐Coated Food‐Grade Conductive Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A fully edible wheat bran–algae substrate is fabricated through scalable mould‐compression and spray‐coating, enabling robust, food‐grade platforms for sustainable electronics. A chitosan barrier improves water resistance and ink compatibility, while activated‐carbon conductive films form uniform electrodes with Ohmic behaviour.

Casimir pistons with general boundary conditions

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
In this work we analyze the Casimir energy and force for a scalar field endowed with general self-adjoint boundary conditions propagating in a higher dimensional piston configuration.

The Casimir effect for conical pistons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we utilize ζ-function regularization techniques in order to compute the Casimir force for massless scalar fields subject to Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions in the setting of the conical piston.

How Particle Size Affects Consolidation Behavior, Strain and Properties of Li6PS5Cl Fast Ionic Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The densification process of Li6PS5Cl powders with varying particles size distributions reveals differences in smaller and larger distributions. Higher strain is revealed for the smaller particle size distribution from X‐ray diffraction. Discrete element method simulations uncover that the reason for the higher strain is not the particle size itself ...

Friction characteristics on sliding part between piston and cylinder of swash plate type piston pump (Effect of geometric shape of piston)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
The friction characteristics on sliding part between piston and cylinder in a swash plate type piston pump in which improvement of the power density is demanded affect the equipment performance and the efficiency.
