Acromegaly Presenting With Cricoarytenoid Joint Arthropathy

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Excess growth hormone in acromegaly induces characteristic acral and soft tissue overgrowth (particularly in the face and hands), arthropathies, as well as cardiovascular and metabolic complications. Similar proliferative changes can occur in the larynx, where hypertrophy of the arytenoid and cricoid cartilages may impair vocal fold mobility.

The effect of acute heat exposure on rat pituitary corticotroph activation: the role of vasopressin.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2010
The increased ambient temperature affects the function of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Since thecorrelation among vasopressin (VP), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and corticosterone (CORT) responses to variousstressors have been long ...

Dysregulated proteolytic cascades in Netherton syndrome: from molecular pathology to preclinical drug testing

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Netherton syndrome (NS) is a rare, severe, and often life‐threatening disease for which current therapeutic approaches are limited and show variable effectiveness. NS is characterized by excessive epidermal desquamation that results in a highly defective epidermal barrier, constitutive skin inflammation, allergies, and hair abnormalities.

Investigation of the Mechanism of Cinnamaldehyde in Irritable Bowel Syndrome Based via Network Pharmacology, Molecular Docking, and Animal Experiments

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
Through network pharmacology and molecular docking, it has been discovered that CA can target MAOB, among other proteins, to exert a therapeutic effect in IBS. In vivo, CA lowered visceral hypersensitivity, anxiety and depression‐like behaviors, and fecal water content, highlighting its therapeutic potential for IBS via anti‐inflammatory pathways ...

Genetically predicted KIR2DS4 mediate the association between gut microbe K10 and osteoporosis fractures: A mediation Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Osteoporosis fractures pose a significant public health concern, leading to substantial morbidity and mortality rates. The emerging evidence on the potential link between gut microbiota, proteins, and osteoporosis fractures suggests a complex relationship that warrants further investigation.
