Invariant Manifolds, the Spatial Three-Body Problem and Space Mission Design [PDF]
The invariant manifold structures of the collinear libration points for the spatial restricted three-body problem provide the framework for understanding complex dynamical phenomena from a geometric point of view.

Effects of the Planar Galactic Tides and Stellar Mass on Comet Cloud Dynamics
We report the first results of a research program to explore the sensitivity of the orbits of Oort cloud comets to changes in the strength of the Galactic tides in the plane of the disk and also to changes in the mass of the host star.

Limit cycle uniqueness for a class of planar dynamical systems
The paper contains the proof of a theorem concerning the uniqueness of a limit cycle for the system \[ \dot{x}=\beta(x)(\varphi(y)-F(x,y)),\quad \dot{y}=-\alpha(y)g(x), \] where \(\alpha(y)\) and \(\beta(x)\) are assumed to be positive. The theorem is applied to such systems in the case \(F(x,y)=F(x)v(y),\) where \(v(y)\) vanishes at some point.

Aspects of Bifurcation Theory for Piecewise-Smooth, Continuous Systems
Systems that are not smooth can undergo bifurcations that are forbidden in smooth systems. We review some of the phenomena that can occur for piecewise-smooth, continuous maps and flows when a fixed point or an equilibrium collides with a surface on ...

A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
