Plane wave backgrounds and colour-kinematics duality

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We consider perturbative gauge theory on a fixed Yang-Mills plane wave background, describing its Feynman rules in detail. Using these rules, the tree-level 4-point gluon amplitude is computed.

Type IIB tensionless superstrings in a pp-wave background

open access: yes, 2004
We solve the tensionless string in a constant plane wave background and obtain a hugely degenerate spectrum. This is the case for a large class of plane wave backgrounds.

The response of laser interferometers to a gravitational wave [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Laser interferometer detectors are now widely used in an attempt to detect gravitational waves (gw). The interaction of the gw with the light circulating in the interferometer is usually explained in terms of the motion of the "free" mirrors that form ...

Is the Phase of Plane Waves an Invariant? [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 2010
Based on the invariance of the phase of waves, plane waves were shown to propagate with negative frequencies in a medium which moves at ’superluminal’ speed opposite to the propagation direction of the plane waves. The validity of the invariance of the phase of plane waves was then called into question.

A Prospective Study of Individuals at Risk of Multiple Sclerosis Informs the Design of Primary Prevention Studies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

On wavenumbers of plane harmonic type I thermoelastic waves of microrotation

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2011
The present paper is researching the propagation of plane harmonic GNI-thermoelastic waves of microrotation by the coupled system of linear micropolar equation of motion and heat transport. The study incorporates the investigation of weak discontinuities

Spin-wave modes of magnetic bimerons in nanodots

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
We report the resonance excitations and the spin-wave modes of a single bimeron in a confined nanodot by using micromagnetic simulations. Magnetic bimerons can be considered as in-plane topological spin textures of magnetic skyrmions, which means that ...

Ground state of spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates with spin-orbit coupling in a Zeeman field

open access: yes, 2012
We systematically investigate the weakly trapped spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates with spin-orbit coupling in an external Zeeman field. We find that the mean-field ground state favors either a magnetized standing wave phase or plane wave phase when the ...
