“Forbidden” planes for Rayleigh waves [PDF]
Summary: We discuss the existence of ``forbidden'' planes, on which Rayleigh waves cannot propagate. A mathematical model for anisotropic materials possessing ``forbidden'' planes is constructed, and an example of transversely isotropic material having ``forbidden'' planes is presented.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

On Generating Gravity Waves with Matter and Electromagnetic Waves
If a homogeneous plane light-like shell collides head-on with a homogeneous plane electromagnetic shock wave having a step-function profile then no backscattered gravitational waves are produced.

Quantum shutter approach to tunneling time scales with wave packets [PDF]
The quantum shutter approach to tunneling time scales (G. Garc\'{\i }a-Calder\'{o}n and A. Rubio, Phys. Rev. A \textbf{55}, 3361 (1997)), which uses a cutoff plane wave as the initial condition, is extended in such a way that a certain type of wave ...

Ketogenic Diet as an Epigenetic Therapy in SETD1B‐Related Epilepsy
ABSTRACT Histone lysine methyltransferases such as SETD1B regulate chromatin structure and gene transcription. Ketone bodies, including butyrate, act as histone deacetylase inhibitors. We report a 4‐year‐old boy with SETD1B‐related absence epilepsy, refractory to conventional medications, who achieved sustained > 90% seizure reduction on the Modified ...

On the Reflection of a Spherical Sound Wave from a Finite Size Surface
Room acoustics computer models based on geometrical acoustics usually handle the sound reflections by the assumption of plane waves. However, if the sound source is a point source, which is usually the case, the spherical wave reflection would be more ...

The Plane-Wave/Super Yang-Mills Duality
We present a self-contained review of the Plane-wave/super-Yang-Mills duality, which states that strings on a plane-wave background are dual to a particular large R-charge sector of N=4, D=4 superconformal U(N) gauge theory.

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

Plane-wave Matrix Theory from N=4 Super Yang-Mills on RxS^3
Recently a mass deformation of the maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills quantum mechanics has been constructed from the supermembrane action in eleven dimensional plane-wave backgrounds.

ABSTRACT Objective Onasemnogene abeparvovec (OA) is an AAV9‐based gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy type I (SMA I). Real‐world outcomes show increased response variability compared to clinical trials, and follow‐up data beyond 12–18 months are limited.
