Dynamics of envelopes of planetary nebulae
The Astrophysical Journal, 1976 Section III deals with a phenomenon typical of much of interstellar space. When a gas is hot, velocity differences of the order of the sound speed are established. If the ionization later disappears and the gas cools, the same velocity gradients lead to strong gas compression.

Mountainous areas and hillslopes on both Earth and Mars are actively being eroded by various sediment transport processes. On Earth, one of the dominant processes causing change on hillslopes are debris flows.
