Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Risk-based Approach in Obtaining and Analysing the Characteristics of Baikal Skullcap Suspension Cultures

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2022
Introduction. The use of biologically active compounds of Baikal skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi) becomes especially important under pandemic conditions. The plant's value becomes the cause of overexploitation of the skullcap subterranean parts,

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

Effect of Methyl Jasmonate on the Growth and Biosynthesis of C13- and C14-Hydroxylated Taxoids in the Cell Culture of Yew (Taxus wallichiana Zucc.) of Different Ages

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2023
The effects of methyl jasmonate (MeJ) on growth and taxoid formation in the cell culture of Taxus wallichiana were investigated to elucidate the specifics of phytohormone action in dedifferentiated plant cells in vitro.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Mass Biosynthesis of Coumestrol Derivatives and Their Isomers via Soybean Adventitious Root Cultivation in Bioreactors

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Coumestrol (CMS) derivatives are unique compounds, which function as phytoalexins; they are derived from soybean roots, following abiotic and biotic stresses.

The 2HA line of Medicago truncatula has characteristics of an epigenetic mutant that is weakly ethylene insensitive [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND The Medicago truncatula 2HA seed line is highly embryogenic while the parental line Jemalong rarely produces embryos. The 2HA line was developed from one of the rare Jemalong regenerates and this method for obtaining a highly regenerable ...

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
