Characteristics of Thermogravimetric Plants

Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 2002
A nonconventional thermodynamic converter, called thermogravimetric system, capable of generating mechanical-electric energy is described in the present work. Such plant is basically an interesting application of a liquid-vapor two-phase flow, evolving in elevated vertical ducts of a large diameter. The most significant plants—those working with liquid

Characteristics of Plant Surfaces

1985
This chapter will examine the chemistry of epidermal cell walls and associated materials of higher plants. It is primarily a review of work on the specialized external surfaces of intact vegetative plants with some reference to epidermal polymers involved in plant defense.

Photosynthetic Characteristics of Arctic Plants

2013
Polar plants have to adapt to the rigorous environment, such as: chilliness, storm wind, and intense illumination. Six Arctic plants were measured by chlorophyll content, leaf area, photosynthesis characters and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters. The results showed that they appeared obvious differences by measuring chlorophyll content for 24 h.

Radiative characteristics of plant leaf

Atmospheric and Oceanic Optics, 2009
Existing leaf radiation models are reviewed. A new concept of the optical model of the leaf as a multiphase system containing three aggregate ensembles of particles significantly different in microphysical and optical characteristics is proposed. The proposed model is based on the reconstruction of the particle size distribution function from the ...

Ultrafine Particle Characteristics in Seven Industrial Plants

The Annals of Occupational Hygiene, 2009
Ultrafine particles are considered as a possible cause of some of the adverse health effects caused by airborne particles. In this study, the particle characteristics were measured in seven Swedish industrial plants, with a special focus on the ultrafine particle fraction.

Plant fructose-1,6-bisphosphatases: characteristics and properties

International Journal of Biochemistry, 1992
In this minireview the properties and characteristics of plant fructose-1,6-bisphosphatases (D-fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase 1-phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.11) are discussed. The properties and characteristics of the chloroplastic and cytoplasmic forms of the enzyme are reviewed.

General Characteristics of Vascular Plants

1989
We have just mentioned two organs characteristic of these plants: the stem and the root. The first common feature to vascular plants is in fact morphological: they are sporophytic organisms constituted of stems, which generally bear leaves, and roots. Only two living genera are an exception to this rule: the Psilotum and the Tmesipteris, which are the ...
