Analysis of the impact of latitude on the structure and composition of tea leaves and associated cold resistance

open access: yesFood Chemistry Advances
In this study, we selected three tea (Camellia sinensis) varieties (Lucha 1, HuangJincha 2, Xueyacha 100). Lucha 1 exhibited the highest levels of sugars suggesting a link between the levels of these three sugars and cold resistance.

AXR3 and SHY2 interact to regulate root hair development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Signal transduction of the plant hormone auxin centres on the regulation of the abundance of members of the Aux/IAA family of transcriptional regulators, of which there are 29 in Arabidopsis.

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

Developing methods for testing the resistance of white cabbage against Thrips tabaci [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Since the damage of the onion thrips (Thrips tabaci Lindemann) first occurred on white cabbage in Hungary several observations have been carried out, both in Hungary and abroad, to assess varietal resistance.

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Effects of melatonin and palmitic acid on the wax content of mango leaf epidermis [PDF]

open access: yesGuoshu xuebao
[Objective] The epidermal wax serves as the primary barrier for plants against external environmental stresses. It plays an important role in preventing water loss from the plant epidermis, inhibiting pathogen invasion and extending the storage period of

In Situ 3D Bioprinting: Impact of Cross‐Linking on the Adhesive Properties of Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ 3D bioprinting enables the direct deposition of cell‐laden, adhesive biomaterials for on‐site tissue regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of how cross‐linking influences the bioadhesive properties of hydrogels used in 3D bioprinting, highlighting cross‐linking triggers, bioadhesion mechanisms, polymer interpenetration ...

An Engineered Living Material With Pro‐Angiogenic Activity Inducible by Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. The released protein promotes pro‐angiogenic effects in endothelial networks and chick chorioallantoic membranes.
