CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Using grain protein electrophoresis to control the genetic integrity of spring bread wheat accessions from the VIR collection of plant genetic resources

open access: yesТруды по прикладной ботанике, генетике и селекции, 2019
Background. VIR's Department of Wheat holds the collections of viable accessions and its originals. The process of reproduction and restoration of germination ability in wheat collections requires monitoring of varietal purity and integrity.

Internet Resources on Plant Genetics

open access: yesIssues in Science and Technology Librarianship, 1997
The number of biological resources on the Internet is staggering, and the apparent complexity of how to locate specific items of interest and relevance can be frustrating or maddening for both novice and experienced searchers. The purpose of this guide is to provide a timely, well-designed, and quality resource to the hypertext of plant genetics ...

Plant genetic resources conservation and management

open access: yes, 2019
This book, the first of its kind in the Indian context, will be found useful by researchers/users and curators engaged in plant genetic resources activities, by the teachers and post-graduate students in traditional and State Universities and equally so,

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

The use of metabolomic profiling to evaluate Aegilops tauschii Coss accessions of various geographical origin from the VIR collection

open access: yesТруды по прикладной ботанике, генетике и селекции
Background. Aegilops tauschii Coss. is a diploid cereal species carrying the D genome of polyploid wheat, which determines the baking properties of bread wheat. A. tauschii is often used to improve old cultivars of Triticum aestivum L.

International law of relevance to plant genetic resources: A practical review for scientists and other professionals working with plant genetic resources

open access: yes, 2019
While controversies over the ownership, control and exchange of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA) are old, modern-day management of these resources is more complicated than ever before.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Molecular and morphometric analyses reveal discrete grouping of pomegranate (Punica granatum) genebank accessions away from cultivars

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2014
Management of germplasm in the field genebanks is greatly assisted by genetic analysis. Estimation of genetic diversity and assessment of genetic relationships among 45 accessions of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) that included cultivars and germplasm
