Integrated analysis of root microbiomes of soybean and wheat from agricultural fields [PDF]
Root associated bacteria are critical for plant growth and health. Understanding the composition and role of root microbiota is crucial toward agricultural practices that are less dependent on chemical fertilization, which has known negative effects on ...

Identification of rice blast disease-suppressing bacterial strains from the rhizosphere of rice grown in Pakistan. [PDF]
Sixteen bacterial strains isolated from the roots and rhizosphere of rice plants growing in saline and non-saline soils from the Shorkot area of Pakistan were tested for their ability to promote plant growth and reduce the incidence of rice blast disease.

Unlocking the microbiome communities of Banana (Musa spp.) under disease stressed (Fusarium wilt) and non-stressed conditions [PDF]
We assessed the diversity, structure, and assemblage of bacterial and fungal communities associated with banana plants with and without Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) symptoms.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Screening of plant growth-promoting bacteria isolated from sugarcane
Plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) are known to establish positive relationships with plants. They act in favoring plant nutrition, production of phytohormones, control of pathogens and enhancement of stress tolerance.

Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria-Fungi as Growth Promoter in Wheat Production
Pot treatment for the bio fertilizer was applied as follows: Trt1 (1g), Trt2 (2g), Trt3 (3g), Trt4 (4g), and Trt5 (Control). The field treatments for the bio-fertilizer were applied as follows: T1 (Control), T2 (100% Mineral Fert (400kg/Ha)), T3 (100% biofert (60kg/Ha)), T4 (100% Mineral fert + 100% biofert), T5 (75% Mineral fert + 100% biofert), T6 ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Development of biofertilizers for sustainable agriculture over four decades (1980–2022)
The application of biofertilizers is becoming an inevitable trend to substitute chemical fertilizers for sustainable agriculture. To better understand the development of biofertilizers from 1980 to 2022, we used bibliometric mining to analyze 12,880 ...
