Quantitative analysis of the control of physiological phenomena by plant hormones

open access: closedPhysiologia Plantarum, 1995
We highlight the need to combine information about hormone concentrations and tissue sensitivity when assessing control of physiological phenomena by plant hormones. A quantitative approach to this problem is suggested and the method illustrated using data for stomatal closure induced by abscisic acid.

An account of some abnormal plants of Salvia Verbenaca L. and S. pratensis L.; together with a physiological interpretation of the phenomena observed in terms of growth hormone concepts.

open access: closedJournal of the Linnean Society of London, Botany, 1946
SUMMARY 1 Seven abnormal shoots, three of Salvia Verbenaca and four of 8; pratensis, are described with special reference to the deviation that they show in leaf insertion from the normal decussate arrangement; reference is also made to the distortion of the axis, and the fusion of leaves and bracts consequent upon this deviation.

Mechanisms and effective control of physiological browning phenomena in plant cell cultures

open access: closedPhysiologia Plantarum, 2015
Browning phenomena are ubiquitous in plant cell cultures that severely hamper scientific research and widespread application of plant cell cultures. Up to now, this problem still has not been well controlled due to the unclear browning mechanisms in plant cell cultures.
