Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Enhancing Propagation of Orostachys spp. Offsets through Exogenous GA3 Application

open access: yes, 2023
Orostachys spp., considered economically important succulent plants for both the medicinal and ornamental plant industries, are known to exhibit slow growth in their offsets during the long, cold winter months.

Intercropping Between Panax ginseng and Arisaema amurense Improves Ginseng Quality by Improving Soil Properties and Microbial Communities

open access: yesHorticulturae
The imbalance in soil microcosm systems caused by the long-term monoculture of ginseng is the main cause of continuous cropping disorder in ginseng, an important factor limiting the development of the ginseng industry.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

In Vitro Propagation of Aconitum violaceum Jacq. ex Stapf through Seed Culture and Somatic Embryogenesis

open access: yes, 2022
Aconitum violaceum Jacq. ex Stapf is a threatened medicinal plant with restricted global distribution. The highest frequency of seed germination was recorded on Murashige and Skoog’s (MS) basal medium, supplemented with 0.5 mg L−1 kinetin ...

Metabolomics combined with physiology and transcriptomics reveals key metabolic pathway responses in ginseng roots to nitrogen and potassium deficiency

open access: yesPlant Stress
Nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) are essential macronutrients for plant growth and development; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying their synergistic regulation of secondary metabolism in medicinal plants remain elusive.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Novel screening methods for plant micropropagation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The techniques of plant micropropagation have not been successfully applied to all species. This study was carried out with the objectives of developing new techniques for rapidly assessing the relative merits of cultural treatments and identifying ...

Preliminary Phytochemical Analysis and Antioxidant, Antibacterial Activities of Crocus alatavicus from Kazakhstan

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2015
Phytochemical analysis of C. alatavicus revealed the presence of phenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, carotenoids, amino acids and carbohydrates. The flavonoid, amino acids and carotenoid contents were higher in aerial part (1.50%, 7.49% and 9.78mg ...
